Purely Joyful Movie!

Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

This film was awesome due to its mostly Native cast. But I found that Johnny's personal struggles were with his brother RT. They were at each other's throats for the most part. RT is the more traditional one while Johnny prefers more of the modern, contemporary way of living. Johnny never fully understood WHY RT and the other members of the family had to defend their traditional lands from the loggers until the very end. When Johnny's father kept popping up throughout the film, it was because he wanted his son to realize the importance of the traditional ways and that the foreign ways were not of him and his People.Another reason why the brothers fought was because RT blamed Johnny for his father's death. I assume that Johnny's father felt a special connection with him which is why he wanted his son to be Chief. I liked how at the beginning when the protesters and the cop went at it head to head. It looked like it was going to be the Kanesatake Conflict of 1990 all over again. ANYWAYS... I give this one a 9 out of 10. That's how good it is.
