I gave this film a 9 out of 10, because it was exactly what I expected it to be.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

Few documentaries entertain me-Hoop Dreams is my favorite-and this is actually pretty good. I would like to say that I am 19 who has seen this twice since age 16. And I am a guy. Plus I am not a JB fan. But as a study on his rise to fame, it is pretty decent. Probably the best part is how fans react over him. One girl climbs on the stage just to hug him, and a guard pulls her down. A grown man holds a "I heart Justin" poster. This movie can make you see a pre-crime Justin in a family friendly movie. If you think you would never want to see this-never say never!

His story as recounted in this concert film/biography puff piece is of some undeniable interest, as he is the first plucked-from-YouTube singer to achieve major mainstream success offline. That factoid aside, this is most definitely what it appears to be--something strictly for those stricken with Bieber Fever, for the documentary bits (largely not in 3D, it must be noted) don't delve any deeper than an E! or MTV profile; and the main drawing card is the ample concert footage. Director Jon M. Chu does make some sort of attempt at a dramatic arc-- the countdown to Bieber's sold-out Madison Square Garden concert-- complete with 11th hour crisis, but said crisis (vocal issues a couple of days before the show) fails to register when clearly all the concert footage already shown throughout the film was shot at that show.

Title says it all, this movie is so bad it should be illegal. The entire plot, if that's even the word for it, is centered around this kid and his rise to "stardom." Frankly, the entire movie is a self-centered, egotistical, and conceited mess all delved into one another to tell this story. This film is a perfect example of how degraded our society is, that this kid has all this popularity and the media portrayal of him just promotes it ten-fold. Amazing how talent nowadays is predicated upon the quantity, not quality, of records sold.Themovie itself is just utter trash, and the ratings of the critics just further prove my point of how much of a kiss a$$ they are.Avoid this movie AT ALL COSTS, also avoid this kid's music at even greater costs.

1st i used to think that Justin is tagged as gay from what OTHERS call him..but my opinion about him changed drastically once i watched his movie. I think this movie has got a good head start of emotional content and passion for music in Justin Bieber. His family background, his gifted talent for musical instruments. And having the courage to rise up high in-spite of family problems.. Even though i'm not a film 'critic' in that sense, but after some collision, my heart and brains have given this film its rating.After all, getting the approval from Top artistes like Usher and others at such a young age..and selling out a landmark like Madison Square Garden is definitely not a joke. And winning the hearts of almost every girl out there in the country? Doesn't seem 'Gay' from any angle..maybe the guys out there are simply jealous.
