Highly Overrated But Still Good
It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.
View MoreI think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
View MoreThe storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
View MoreThings begin when a bleach blonde takes a shower while someone watches from the window, before sneaking inside and bashing her on the head with a log. Cut to a bar where five exotic dancers plan to compete for the title of "Miss Dance TV." They complain, plot against each other, stretch and each go through their routines. All we basically get is them in their G-strings. Anyway, someone starts picking them off one by one in lots of cliched ways: poison, knife, etc. One girl turns around after doing her routine and walks right into an open noose (!) POV shots of the killer holding a club, frying pan and other murder weapons, and then dragging the dead bodies around, are laughable. Lots of ridiculous suspects pop up, like an aging, jealous former dancer, an insane Nam vet bartender, two annoying surfer dudes and the oversexed bar owner. The ending proves yet again that disco balls will never go out of style. The people responsible for this are also responsible for the equally absurd late-night cable staple BIKINI ISLAND, and this film is nearly identical to that one (aside from taking place on an island). Both feature a murder mystery plot, scantilly-clad ladies, silly death scenes and great music (The Seeds even have a song on this films soundtrack!)Score: 3 out of 10
