It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.

I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

It doesn't look like this, but it is actually a film noir. "A la française", but a film noir. It takes place in Paris, in the middle of Les Halles district, garment jungle of Paris. Some petty hoods fight among themselves about girl, honor, revenge. It reminds me another french movie: FUREUR, 2003. A Turkish man in love with a Chinese girl, big shots who want to take control of the racket business in the neighbourhood, and you have exactly everything that kind of feature need to be a good crime movie. Players are effective, especially Simon Abkarian at his best.Don't miss it.
