Archetypal buddy cops Riggs and Murtaugh are back for another round of high-stakes action, this time setting their collective sights on bringing down a former Los Angeles police lieutenant turned black market weapons dealer. Lorna Cole joins as the beautiful yet hardnosed internal affairs sergeant who catches Riggs's eye.

It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) pursue an arms dealer who is a former LAPD officer (Stuart Wilson).I love that Joe Pesci is a bit more lively in this one. He seemed subdued in part two. Can't wait to see him in part four, though he will probably be overshadowed by the massive cast.Director Richard Donner is an animal-rights and pro-choice activist, and placed many posters and stickers for these causes in the film. Of note are the T-shirt worn by one of Murtaugh's daughters (the actress's idea), an 18-wheeler with an anti-fur slogan on the side, and a sticker on a locker in the police station. Was this necessary? I don't know. I thought the t-shirt seemed strange, and somehow balanced funny with the condom ad...

This is another action-packed cop sequel pairing up again Mel Gibson as Martin Riggs and Danny Glover as Roger Murtaugh on a mission to stop a corrupt cop from his illegal arms dealing. From start to finish, it's a non-stop rush of humor and action, from the attempted bomb dismantling incident to the gangster shootout.Gibson and Glover continued their at times frustrated partnership but spelled great chemistry together and delivered enough humor to keep the film engaging enough to go along with the mad rush of all the action scenes. Riggs' daredevil stunts and Murtaugh's too-old-for-this-s?it mantra continue to become two intriguing focal points in the story. The addition of Rene Russo as Lorne Cole at first spelled headaches for the cops, but later on provided some great chemistry with Mel Gibson and a funny love/hate relationship. There is also some added drama and suspense during the scene where Murtaugh's son interacts with a bad gangster friend. And, Joe Pesci appears again as Leo Getz, proving yet another fast-talking but at times cringe worthy performance. ***spoiler ahead*** Some of the scenes were overkill, especially the part where the rookie cop was fatally wounded in the shootout after he wanted badly to join in on the action ***spoiler ends*** Overall, it's non-stop action from start to finish and is another exciting sequel.Grade B

Welcome to my review on Lethal Weapon 3, the 3rd in the series and the 3rd in my chronological compilation of reviews of where I rank all 4 films. Some of these key points maybe difficult to understand if you are just reading my reviews from this point so go back and start reading my review on the first film all the way upwards to the 4th. With that out of the way lets get started with: Lethal Weapon 3 is my favorite of the series. I really like this film and consider it one of the greatest action movies ever conceived. It's 6.6 on this website is a little under rated and is why I have personally rated it a 7. Jack Travis is the best villain of the series with some classic moments in the film. This film is just so easy to watch from the rest for some reason. And yeah, I can see why it might have gotten a 6.6, in actual fact I don't because most under rated films are in the 6's. Here are some examples, Licence To Kill (1989), Disturbia (2007)and On Her majesty's Secret Service (1969). I recommend you see these under rated films and rate them for your self to see how wrongly they were rated on this website. Anyway this film is my favorite of the series and I really suggest you view this action packed adventure.

Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, and Joe Pesci return for this overly comedic, and routine sequel, which finds them going after a corrupt former cop, now illegal arms dealer, whose guns have gotten on the streets in Muratugh's own neighborhood, hitting him personally, while Riggs meets his female counterpart in the form of policewoman Lorna(played by Rene Russo) who is just as tough as he is, and with prodding, just as reckless.Overlong and too preachy, sequel feels watered down with a misdirected "family" feel to the story, rather than the hard edged action of before, though that won't stop Lorna and Riggs from threatening a suspect with being crushed by a car! Not a "cat"astrophe, but a disappointment.
