Lack of good storyline.
Good start, but then it gets ruined
Best movie ever!
Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
View MoreI have the unpopular opinion that the original Lost Boys was overrated, I don't think it was a bad film but I don't see it as the cult classic many others do.This blatant cash grab sees Corey Feldman return as Edgar Frog as he comes to the aid of a man whose sister has been taken by vampires and turned into one of the undead horde. This didn't feel like a Lost Boys movie and has an identity of its own. Sadly that identity is distinctly average and just another vampire movie. It has its moments, the script is well above par and it clearly has a budget behind it but there is little of consequence to get excited for even if you are a fan of the original. If you like Vampires and/or Corey Feldman you can find worse things to do with 90 minutes but if you're expect more of the same as Lost Boys (1987) you'll be sorely disappointed. The Good: Tom Savini Great soundtrack Good script The Bad: Pretty average stuff Things I Learnt From This Movie: None too surprisingly the blood and saltwater experiment is fictional Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day, set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life
View MoreSiblings Chris (Tad Hilgenbrink) and Nicole Emerson (Autumn Reeser) move to Luna Bay after their parents' death. Aunt Jillian charges them $650/month to rent a rundown house. Chris leaves his address at Edgar Frog (Corey Feldman)'s trailer hoping to work for the board shaper. Chris is a surfer and he's invited to a party by legendary surfer Shane Powers (Angus Sutherland). Shane is the leader of a band of surfing vampire douches. Nicole begs to go to the party and gets turned into a half-vampire. Edgar tells Chris that Nicole will turn full vampire after her first kill unless they kill the vampire leader. This is a B-movie sequel to the cult-classic 1987 original. It's an inferior product. The actors are inferior. The production is inferior. Surprisingly, Corey Feldman is a bright spot reprising his role as Edgar Frog. I like the transformation into the world-weary vampire hunter. The douche vampires are not as cool. The siblings don't have the same child endangering tension or charm. It's an inferior movie overall.
View MoreThis film is OK-HOWEVER it came 20 years too late!!! The first film was epic and will remain everyones favourite. They should have done this sequel about a year or so after the first and should have had all the original cast in especially SAM, Michael, grandpa, mom and Star!!! We want to know what happened to all of them!!! I really think Joel Schumacher should have directed this as well as he understood the LB properly-REALLY not a good movie. Suppose its OK if you have never seen the first one but if you have then this JUST doesn't make the grade! They really needed Corey Haim in it properly working alongside the Frog brothers. REALLY miss the original cast :((( Very sad to watch this really
View Moreokay here we go if your a fan of the first film you've got to watch this one just to say you watched it, now this film is definitely more of an homage than a sequel, it has the two siblings moving to Santa Carla Nicole and Cris Emerson who slightly resembles Jason Patric well at least his eye color does. We see the scenes of the town and the weird people and the sax player who's gained 90 pounds and downgraded to playing on the sidewalk, their aunt whines and preaches at them in the perfect imitation of Dianne Wiest and rents them a dump shack no one wants to do renovations on this place so Cris decides they should go out instead. Nicole meets a cute guy (ugh the lines on this scene make me cringe) who looks exactly like Corey Feldman and Cris goes looking for Edgar Frog and later meets Shane who looks like a grunged out Kiefer Sutherland just like that no animosity no character at allso they they go to a house party where Nicole meets David #2 and drinks his blood out of a flask and Cris hooks up with a Jamie Gertz wannabe with a weakness for surfers. Thats another thing the lost boys are supposed to be lost, outsiders, a biker gang of rebels not surfers, race car drivers, and skaters. Might as well have them be surfers, ice skaters, and golfers. so Nicole is all infested and tries to kill Cris when they get home after a silly fight and Edgar Frog hits her with a surfboard the surf groupie follows Cris home and tries to kill him and ends up being impaled on the antlers Nicole and Cris just happened to find earlier without the help of a taxidermist grandpa, groundbreaking!!! Cris tries to get help from Edgar and this is where we really need Alan Frog to come in and be be sidekick so Nicole finds her way to the vampire pad wearing Shanes leather jacket the place looks like an alice in chains rehearsal dump more than a vampire cave complete with a skating ramp love seat and plasma TV to play xbox, the lost boys are supposed to live like bums in a vampire cave thats why they're lost! Also these vampires really suck they're cutting each other up and making this awful screaming like a bunch of jerks always videotaping everything they probably post it all on facebook. Anyway Shane and Nicole precede to make love in a perfect replay of-though not nearly as hot as the Jason and Jamie lovemaking scenes again it needed some cloud scenes for it to work!so Cris finds Nicole and they go do some skateboarding and racing at the police station and later Cris does some blood shots out of the flask when he gets home he has to answer to his aunt and remove his shades just like in the first film wow! Oh and Nicole is only 17... score!!! So later Cris is at a little beach hangout with these douche-bags who then drink the blood of a bunch of bikini clad girls and film the whole thing Cris impales one and the two left are about to get him when Edgar shows up and they disappear Shane tries to get Nicole to kill the Corey Feldman lookalike and she refuses. Edgar and Cris then break into the alice in chains hangout to kill everyone this is when it gets good everyone! lol they kill theother two and including Shane but the death scenes are actually good when Nicole and Cris are back to normal and Edgar drops them off with Edgar JR in the back of the truck Nicole takes off her six inch spike stiletto heels and they sit down to enjoy a good beer and the aunt yells at them in a very grandpa kind of way "if i see one seed or catch one whiff of reefer I'm calling the cops" I'm about to start crying at this point when after the end credits we finally see Sam Emerson gone vampire where the f was he all through the film?! Maybe this movie would've been better if they'd had Star and Laddie the little boy a complete different vampire cast and lots of glitter in the blood.
