Love Me If You Dare Trailers

As adults, best friends Julien and Sophie continue the odd game they started as children -- a fearless competition to outdo one another with daring and outrageous stunts. While they often act out to relieve one another's pain, their game might be a way to avoid the fact that they are truly meant for one another.

Highly Overrated But Still Good

TrueHello

Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

it is what you want. a modern fairy tale, expression of the Peter Pan syndrome, a game, a preservation form of time in the skin of an only age. but, more important, it is a revelation. about the lead actors and the chemistry between themes, about the director and his admirable art to define the small details light, for the story itself , seductive, cruel, touching, naive, lovely. a film about friendship. or a homage to the friendship. important is the state of viewer after the end of final credits. that state is the authentic proof of the special form of magic of this beautiful film.

Most of us, me included, judge a movie after its ending. If the film is great is has to have a great ending, if it sucked the ending sucked. This one has a wonderful ending not just because it's tragic and unpredictable, but mostly because it's interpretable, relative, the watcher has the liberty to choose his own ending, the one who likes best. I guess that's the perfect movie, the one where you can make your own ending. Especially when all the choices given by the writers are perfect. I think we can better understand the real essence of the characters if we start watching the film from the end to the beginning, if we realize the intense feelings they have for each other, the reasons they do what they do, the whole idea of the game they play even in the final moment. It really makes you wonder: have I really experienced love, true, real, extreme, supreme love? Or am I capable to? There are no better words to describe it then the memorable ecstatic scene where Julien is chased by the cops: "Pure, raw, explosive pleasure! Better than drugs, better than smack! Better than a dope-coke-crack-fix shoot-sniff! A ganja-marijuana-blotter acid-ecstasy! Better than sex, head, sixty-nine, orgies, masturbation... Better than banana milk-shakes! Better than the George Lucas box-set, the Muppets and 2001! Better than Emma Peel, Marilyn Monroe, and Cindy Crawford's beauty spot! Better than B-side of Abbey Road! Better than Jimmy Hendrix, the first man on the moon! Better than the Space mountain, Santa Claus, Bill Gates' fortune, the Dalai Lama, Lazarus raised from the dead! Schwarzenegger's tester-one shots, Pam Anderson's lips! Woodstock, rave parties, Sade, Rimbaud, Morrison and Castaneda! Better than freedom, better than life!

"Wickedly" is really the best word to describe it. Not being a regular french movie fan, I decided to give it a try with this one, mostly because of the story (because cast, producer, etc were mostly unknown to me)and it's classification here. I have to say I was very surprised, but I can't say whether if it was in a good or a bad way. If you like good romances, not the usual romantic comedies, but different, brand new romances, this movie is great. I'm one of those people, so in a way this movie pleased me very much. On the other hand you can count with a very crazy story, in which some parts you will find yourself thinking "Are they seriously?!?". But it is fiction, so we can't be surprised with an amount of what can be considered insanity for some of us. In another way, and for those who aren't so septic, I guess it will make perfect sense, because the story will reveal as crazy as love can be, and if it is in the name of love I guess we can allow ourselves more tolerancy. Overall it's a story being told, there's an order for things and it's not hard to keep up. It has some sweet parts that remind me an innocent childhood and it also retreats the problem of stubbornness. If you're looking for a romance and you like to ear french I think it's very worth seeing.

This is a real "marmite" of a film - you either love it or hate it! I love it! I agree with the other reviews that it is not your typical Hollywood film - it's a very "european" film, reminding me of a few of Almodovar's films which are also some of my favourite. People I know have struggled to "get" the film - I agree with some of the other reviews that if you try and take this film too literally, it won't make sense - just go with it an enjoy :-) The music is great with the use of La Vie en Rose and other instrumentals! I nominated this film for my monthly book and film club and can't wait to see what the others say. I think it's going to be an interesting debate!
