It's one of the most original films you'll likely see all year, which, depending on your threshold for certifiably crazy storylines, could be a rewarding experience or one that frustrates you.
View MoreOne of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.
View MoreThere is definitely an excellent idea hidden in the background of the film. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find it.
View MoreThrough painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
View MoreSeason 1 - very good, 8/10 Season 2 - 5/10 - good start, but after episodes 8-9, the whole plot starts to fall apart, and weird things begin to happen. So, to make it quicker, let me point out the things that had gone bad in the season 2:there is a lot of threads overall, but only a few of them gets the required attention, most of them remain unsolvedthe plot lacks the clear focus - which is connected to the previous pointthe plot gets veeeery stupid at times - like with the whole 3 last episodes (Electra's behavior, when she gets to know that she's the Dark Sun, The Stick trying to kill Elektra after so many years of protecting her, the whole final fight at the rooftop, when for some reason half of ninjas are fighting, and the other half is just plain standing and staring - zombies?)yeah zombies - like wtf was going on with this half-zombie children, murdering their own parents - that never got solved (can't sleep at night coz of this weird sht)the characters miss any clear development, and when it happens - it's not in line with common sensethe explosion on the ship didn't look dangerous for people standing like 50 meters from it, on the coast. Yet, everybody died (lack of budget for special effects?). And yet, Frank who was on that same ship survives (zombies again?)That's just a part of the problems. In general, I liked the season two, until the episode like 9 or 10. It seems to me, that they went over budget and then and tried to cover it up.
View MoreAfter hearing that this was going to be a adult superhero show in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out. That being said, this is currently my 3rd favorite superhero show. Charlie Cox's performance as Matt Murdock/Daredevil was really realistic. It was almost like he had heavily studied the mannerisms of blind people before starting production. By golly, his acting is so friggin good. The standout performance in Season One was Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk. He wasn't a stereotypical cheesy villain that one would normally see in a comic book property. His performance was very nuanced, and (to be completely honest) terrifying. He was a pretty unpredictable character, who could quickly change from calm and collected to pissed off and homicidal. Although he is the villain, the show also tries to make you sympathize with him. And let me just say, it definitely works, despite the fact that this guy is a psychopath. In Season Two, the show-stealer was Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher. As a man torn apart by violence, Castle is a man who won't stop killing before he's avenged his murdered family. Bernthal really brings a lot of emotion to this performance, while also being the comic book equivalent of Kratos from "God of War". He really nailed his performance, so much so that he got his own spinoff show, "The Punisher".This show also does a really good job of saying "Hey, Disney! We're An Adult Show, so Screw You!". This show really has a lot of violence, cursing (with the exception of the f-word, which has still never been uttered once in the MCU), drug and alcohol content, and some sexual themes (the show starts with Daredevil freeing women from a human trafficking ring). It's effective without it beating us over the head with this content. This show also has some pretty fun action (the hallway fight in season one and the stairwell fight in season two).I can't recommend this show enough. If you have Netflix, definitely give this one a try.
View MoreI am really enjoying this show, but I can't seem to get past the mishaps in the transition from comic book to tv show. For example, in the comic book, he had blonde hair, while in the show, he has brown. Also, in the comic book, his mask at the earlier stages of vigilantism is red and full faced, while in the show, it's black and covers only half his face. Other than those facts and the lack of the character Stick(my favorite character from the comic books), this show is really quite good.
View MoreDaredevil easily hits the ground running and makes a big splash. It is engaging and keeps you glued to screen at times. Matt Murdoch is a skilled lawyer by day and a masked vigilante by night. To top it off he is blind and has heightened senses, the perfect disguise. What's not to like. Season 1 was its strong point however season 2 has its ups and downs. As a show it delves too much into the self-righteous space and we see Matt struggling sometimes to do what is needed. As the Punisher rightly put it, what Daredevil does is half measures. There is also so much self-righteous behaviour and I'm going to turn on my friends and law firm that you can take. Daredevil is definitely decent and has some strong supporting characters but it not nearly as good as the show it spinned off, The Punisher. 7.5/10
