More than a year after the events of Meat Market, the few survivors, Argenta, Nemesis, and others, struggle for survival against the undead in the ruins of what was once society. In their search for a safe haven they come across what appears to be the last refuge of humanity - a fortified compound run by former motivational speaker Bill Wilhelm and his cult of heavily armed fanatics. But when Argenta is subjected to indoctrination techniques and her comrades imprisoned, she begins to suspect that deep within the compound, more is going on than a simple attempt to rebuild...that Bill and his followers have more than one use for the living and the undead alike...

Such a frustrating disappointment

A lot of fun.

One of those movie experiences that is so good it makes you realize you've been grading everything else on a curve.

This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

Judging by those standards....it was only a little above average. The gore includes: arrows in the head, blown up heads, head slicing, skinned bodies, gun shots, bit fingers, GROSS insects, and tons of flesh eating! The effects are nice looking for the budget, but I would have liked to see a little bit more. I think they did the best with what they had.The sets were impressive for a really low budget. I'm not too sure how Clement pulled all of that together. At times the audio was shifty which got a little distracting. The main attraction was the sound effects...utterly NASTY...they went all out with the squishy noises. The editing had its ups and downs also. The best editing were the dream sequences..there was some slow/fast motion and quick edits that were done really professionally. On the other hand simple cut edits were off at places that really bothered me and hurt the acting even more. This movie seemed to be put together by people who knew one another. Therefore, there are not real actors involved. That being said, they were still extremely average at best. The two leading girls could use a little work on the acting skills. Claire Westby has the lead but she also helps Clement produce it looks like. I think she's actually got some potential. Alison Therriault is really pretty too and actually does a half way decent job. Rob Nesbitt played the dictator well...I think he was actually the best actor...I'm not sure why I liked him so much. As much good as I've said...the acting doesn't really flow at all.Final Thoughts: The gore was the main attraction to the film, and it was pretty impressive with the budget. Brian Clement's direction and make-up skills appealed to me quite a bit. This came out in 2001 and had a VERY similar premise to 28 days later...pretty original!

Everyone is entitled to his opinion like the dude who posted the first comment, but I couldn't completely agree with him for trashing this movie. I purchased this film and the sequel when the director himself was selling them before he got distribution. There were parts of the film that were disturbing so as a soldier's penis being ripped off by a zombie and eaten, as well as a doctor having sex with rotten human flesh and a group of humans eating human organs for dinner! But beyond that, it is an okay film. What do you expect since it is a low budget flick? (The director spends an average of $2000 on his projects and lives in Canada.) Regardless, the film isn't completely bad. But isn't that what we like? You can't expect to get Shakesphere out of a gore flick zombie romp, now could you? What was this dude (the other reviewer), thinking? That it was going to be actually good when it was made in someone's backyard!? The first film was better and not as vulgar, but for effort I give the director a 5 out of 10. (And no, I am not his friend.)

About the worst movie in distribution right now! I love zombie movies and saw this in the used rack so I thought why not? Oh my god a shame to zombie movies and fans to the genre! Whoever made this movie needs to put away your camcorder and go to film school! There are so many gore hounds out there who have put time and effort into their films and they have something that this film doesn't dignity. I know it what it takes to make films and I'm sure there was a lot of money and time spent in making Meat Market but none of that money and time went in to making it good. You need actors, a script, a real camera, invest in some books on how to make independent films. I don't know how you got a DVD release but whoever did that is either a really good friend or banging their head on the wall. In gore films it is quality not quantity, the effects are weak! I was so angry that this is actually in stores and that I couldn't get my money back. Please if you have seen this film write here and put an end to shlock. I know I'm being very harsh, I only had 10 lines so I'm trying to get to the point.

I love Zombie-Movies and I love amateur-productions. And Meat Market 2 starts really promising with a nice homage to Fulci´s Classic "Zombi".So I leaned back and waited to be impressed. Okay, some of the makeups are great for such a no budget movie and some actors (the vampirelady and the cook) really stand out, but else there´s nothing.I didn´t expect a new Romero here but there is not one sequence in the whole movie which has even a little bit of suspense or shock value. The director sure knows how to stage body rippings and interesting eating habits, but now (after two parts) it´s time to learn something more.In MeatMarket2 Gore rhymes with bore - for me that´s not enough - sorry.** out of *****
