When miner Charley 'Boomer' Baxter sets off a series of massive mining detonations in West Virginia, a gigantic earthquake is soon rocking the North Atlantic, exposing a deep seismic fault that runs the length of the North American continent. All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

I don't get all these bad reviews. This is not a big budget Hollywood movie. Why judge it as one? This is a made-for-tv flick and using that standard this movie is more than OK. It was nice to see Murphy play a serious role. It is too bad she is no longer with us. She could have gone on to be an A list actor.

This honestly the worst movie I have accually sat thru. I thought that with this cast it couldn't be as bad as all the reviews have been.... Man, was I wrong. This movie is just AWFUL from the time it starts, to the time it (thankfully) ended. Horrible cgi, horrible script, s many "Goofs" I couldn't even keep up.... Please read the reviews and DO NOT WATCH...... Either stare at the sky for an hour or so, or wash your bricks one by one on your house. But do not waste your time.I gave it a one because it wouldn't let me go lowerSeems like I need a couple more lines of review to allow this to be posted. So, I will write a bit more until it lets me post. I want to make sure this is posted so I can discourage anyone else from watching this nightmare of a movie. I thank god that Brittany didn't have to hear all of the reviews that this movie received. I'm sure she would have been disgusted on this production. NOT the actors fault at all, the writer, director as well as the cgi. The director should never work in cinema again, EVER, AS WELL AS THE DP...... Producers should give the money they made off this to a charity

Shocking acting to a dull and predictable plot with truly appalling special effects. Were they trying to make the worst move ever? I didn't know anyone did special effects this bad any more; especially surprising when you consider what Monsters just achieved on a low budget with a laptop.I watched Megafault having enjoyed Eriq La Salle in ER. It is very sad to see him in such a poor movie.Sometimes movies are so bad they can be funny, but this one insists on taking itself seriously. At least my wife and I enjoyed trying to outdo each other in describing who terrible Megafault was, but it would have been better to just turn it off.

I hate rubbishing peoples work. But.... This film looks great on the packaging, sounds like a great idea - A Mega Fault to rip the world apart. Now, lets get one definition out the way "World - anywhere within the USA" Explosions set off a seismic event triggering earthquakes big enough to rip a gash in the USA. No one else in the world feels it at all; this gap can be seen from space and the rest of the world carry on like nothing happening? Repetition of scenes - I watched it and thought "hang on, I've just seen that". I blinked once and missed the plot, blinked again and missed any form of character development. Didn't have a clue who they were (only the old bloke being in V back in the 80's) didn't know what they were doing and why. There was no effects on how this event changed the rest of the world, er sorry, USA and no sign of a president.I don't think I'll include this on the Wet Sunday list and I beg of all of you who do watch this, Don't make it an impression you have of the late Brittney Murphys work.
