It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
View MoreI wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.
View MoreIt's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
View MoreAlthough I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
View MoreThere is nothing really bad about this film, but there also isn't a single aspect that makes this movie worth the watch or particularly memorable. We are in a great era for animated films right now with Pixar being top of the really strong competition, but with much quantity, there's also always films that do not deliver. "Escape from Skull Shores" is one of these. I see there are more of these "Monster High" movies that run for under an hour and this one here is the first I saw. And because of the lack of quality, it's probably also the last. The animation is really mediocre, in terms of characters, but also setting. The story is never convincing in terms of romance, drama and, the worst, comedy. I never thought this was a funny movie and there wasn't a single scene that had me laugh. I see that this is a film primarily aimed at teenage girls, but this is not a movie that the next generation of cinephiles should grow up with watching. Not recommended.
