From my favorite movies..
Don't listen to the Hype. It's awful
I saw this movie before reading any reviews, and I thought it was very funny. I was very surprised to see the overwhelmingly negative reviews this film received from critics.

View MoreNo matter how much the local Pakistani industry hates the guts of Jami for being so blunt about the Commercial Masala flicks, They all are bound to acknowledge the Master piece made by Jami Mehmood . I think it would be absolutely unfair for reviewing the film alone, I would rather take the whole journey of Moor from the day its day rolled till its screening at cinemas and then pass a judgment considering all the odds the Team Moor had to face to make this Film Possible . In an Industry where all big Directors are going for safe play by adding Item Numbers and fancy Cinematography , Jami manages to to give them a knock out by hitting the arena with such a powerful screenplay and to remind you he is more known for his Cinematographic skill but Moor turned out to be a absolute surprise as the Film Narrative possessed the power of hooking every single viewer to their seat .Moor created a nostalgic aura through out the 120mins and then you move on with different daily activities but when ever you are in solitude you get nostalgic with the experience of Moor , its music , its dialogues, its pleasing landscapes . and when I think of it , i feel Jami has done his job .
View More****A Must Watch****"WAAR", "Na Maloom Afrad", "Dukhter" and Now "Moor". Pakistani Cinema is becoming serious business and now we've also need to take it serious. This movie reminds me of Shayam Benegal's "New or Alternate Cinema".This movie talks about deprived land, deprived people, injustice, honesty, family. On other hand it also gives insight on the decline of "Pakistan Railway" especially in Balochistan."Moor" is us....is Balochistan..... is Pakistan. And this movie shows this perspective very precisely.Nature do the full justice with Balochistan. It's diverse and beautiful, "Moor" also did justice with it too by showing diverse scenery of Balochistan. A Job Very Well Done.... Jami
View MoreThe quality, the message, the beauty shown in Moor is just awe- inspiring! There wasn't anything i could point a flaw in. Even if there was I wouldn't want to! The cinematography, the screenplay, the sound everything was simply amazing. The actors did a great job, even the side roles. The execution of the film is just amazing. It unravels like a gem. Definitely my best cinema experience of our reviving film industry. Read somewhere that 'Moor is a gift for Pakistan' and i would say yes it IS!! I would say that it might a little ahead of its time for Pakistani Film in Pakistan. The Item number loving crowd will never be pleased with it. The hooting and chanting voices will not be heard in the cinema for Moor. Although you might hear a few sighs during the climax of the movie. A justified ending for a brilliant piece of art. Thank you Jami :)
View MoreJami is known for bringing out of the box and creative works all the time, from the music videos to TVCs, it depict always new fresh feelings, no copycat etc. framing and scene composition never compromised by Jami. Everyone knows Jami is a man who always leads from the front; even the mountain peaks of Kanjrab (Karakoram Mountains) or toughest mountain hills of Gorakh never stops his feet.Moor is a long awaited film of Jami, so expectation was so high, audience were waiting for more than three years. So this film should be on that particular level. Moor film shot on the remote locations of Balochistan, which explored by any Director first time, working on extreme climate and tough weather conditions, where survival is not easy he made it. Moor is served as a great cinematography, best script, best acting and best directions with best crew and team building, it is truly made in Pakistan. Films across the world made in various genres but unfortunately in Pakistan India made and successful genres are Romance, Action and Comedies, so they can take out money easily, so they never try different genre. Moor is neither an entertainment nor item number film with some big name, it has simple but colorful cast and numerous plot twists. Jami used actors that had either appeared in previous Blockbuster film, and all of them tried their level best to for their respective roles. Hameed Sheikh and Abdul Qadir has done magnificent and unforgettable role of Wahid, while Shaz Khan, Ayaz Samoo and Sonya did their marvellous entry on the debut. Strings soundtrack is truly amazing and beyond the imagination of our audience. Art direction Tahir Mehmood and Nasma did wonderful job. Cinematography by Farhan Hafeez with Faibo Borhanz stunning and outstanding. Nadeem H. Mandviwalla you produced a master piece. Well done! Team Moor. Keep rolling....
