All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de)

"Necrophile Passion" is (despite the title) a German/Austrian co-production that resulted in a German-language movie from 2013, so next year it will have its 5th anniversary. Writer and director is Tom Heidenberg and he made this film together with Thomas Binder. It's a really short movie at 51.5 minutes and this includes credits already, but this is probably a good thing as honestly there is little to no quality in here. Script is extremely bad to be honest and doesn't make sense on many occasions. The actors aren't good either. And the story of a man finding a female corpse at the forest and what he does with her (take a look at the title and you know!) is nothing really new or creative anymore. But there are some slight positive aspects too. Of course the context doesn't really make sense that suddenly we have two necromantics in here, but it was still nice for a change to see the entire thing also the other way around for once, namely a woman who enjoys having sex with a male corpse. And anyway, the sex scenes were probably the best thing about the film, so maybe the people who made this / starred in it should go for porn instead of horror. The chemistry between the actors was sadly non-existent and they never felt like a couple. Overall, the bad clearly outweighs the good and 4 stars out of 10 is still pretty much on the generous side. Don't watch.

Attending horror conventions could bring up some flicks you never had heard of before, let this be one of them, although I had noticed it due the convention we were going to as it would be released over there. Necrophile Passion and the German language (I know it's Austrian) will bring back memories of another cult flick, Nekromantik (1988). While Nekromantik became a cult flick in those days because it was never done before this one has it's moments too.Be honest you horror buffs, Nekromantik was rather boring in some ways and it wasn't filmed that perfectly and it used some annoying effects while the passion went on. The same is used here but I think it was used for two ways, one for the flash back or dream effects and secondly to hide the nudity used. This is what will make this flick talked about. there's a lot of nudity used and it's just one the edge of soft core because everything is shown here. The girls are of course naked and shaved and are full of tattoos or piercings on private parts but the leading male isn't afraid to show his hard on too.The producers or the label (blacklave) were smart enough to add English subs to this flick because it's all spoken in German/Austrian. By clocking in at 52 minutes it's just enough to keep you interested in what is going on with our main lead. Still, there are parts that could have moved a bit faster like chapter 2 for example. Some will find it a bit lame and others will be offended by the nudity and the theme. Gore 0/5 Nudity 2,5/5 Effects 2,5/5 Story 2,5/5 Comedy 0/5

Then you could be a necrophiliac and/or someone with a rubber doll under their bed. Think about it: You could come and go as you please with no one to question you. As well, you wouldn't have to talk to your low-maintenance partner if you didn't want to since being dead or made of rubber or plastic they don't care. And what about your financial situation? Good or bad you save some coin since you don't have to pay any extras on food, clothes, presents, trips and your apartment or house utilities. Tempting in these tough economic times isn't it? Hopefully if you decide to go low-maintenance you'll choose the rubber or plastic doll. It's may be weird, kinky, and even pathetic --but at least it's not as sick and f!!cked up as the the other choice which brings me to this "thing" that I saw.Cheap, uninteresting, mostly indoor --movie? F!!ck no! I'll call it a "video" or "film" (of sorts) about a guy with girlfriend issues (and certainly mental ones too) who finds a female corpse in the woods, throat slashed and blood all over. He whips out his cell seeming about to do the responsible thing and call the cops...then pauses...face kind of twitching as he stares at the corpse. Lord knows what his thinking process was at this point. Anyway, whatever it was it ended with him putting his cell phone away and dragging the bloody corpse home with him where he didn't waste any time assaulting it with his little woody (Even licking the blood on it!).Being a hard-core horror movie fan I'm always looking for movies to horrify me which this movie did -but not in a good way. I was mostly horrified at how boring it was. I chit-chatted with my amigo thru most of it after the point I described above sparing a cursory glance now and again to yawn and return to my conversation. Love, Boloxxxi.

Let's go straight into this corpse-humper of a film. It essentially starts out with the bare minimum required for a necrophilia flick - a man finding a nude woman in the woods, brings her home and has sex with her. By this point I expect to only get that, but then it slowly goes more into the past of our lead man. He's had a bad relationship and was dumped. When his life has reached its absolute lowest, he discovers this corpse which awakes a lust in him that was part of the recent his girlfriend left him. Love yet again strikes, but perhaps the two are a bit too similar for both to be alive by the end of it?I'm not a fan of the poor old film filtering used in the flashbacks, and many of the early flashbacks seem pointless to me. It seems like the actor, Guenther Brandl, was more capable enough to build a back story with his stares than they were with filming it. I'll give the actor respect for that.Certain scenes of a woman having sex with a very rotten corpse will remind people of "Nekromantik" in more than one way. This essentially is just a scene of a woman riding a corpse while music is playing. Obviously focusing extra on this as it shows everything people would want out of this movie: nude woman riding a rotten corpse. It doesn't necessarily make it a better movie in my book, and unfortunately decisions such as these seem to be very present in almost all necrophile movies. I guess it's hard to find a way to balance it, since they'll either show too little or show it all (the latter meaning they'll be labeled extreme - a very popular sub-genre amongst our readers).A few more tricks with the camera/editing and maybe going for more subtle music and "Necrophile Passion" could have been pretty disturbing. I think it succeeds over some of the other necrophilia films (usually shorts) I have seen in that the lead actor actually portrays something with his expressions. There are several scenes that work in a dark- drama-sort-of-way, but it more often than not goes back to being the low budget extreme fest pushing things as far as possible. For some, that's exactly what they want - personally I will continue trying to find the perfect middle ground."Necrophile Passion" is definitely better than some of the German/Austrian junk out there, where titles like "Ostermontag" should be buried and forgotten about. "Necrophile Passion" is not a waste, it has a few juicy moments for the trash/extreme fans. This one could be placed next to titles like "Rotten Romance" and "Gorotica", but it has a long way reaching the status of "Nekromantik" (though the fact that "Nekromantik" was made in the 80's means that it might never be beaten) or even something like "A Wonderful Love". The latter which portrays it in a much more fine/artistic manner. A large part of our readers here will love everything "Necrophile Passion" has to offer, and the rest will walk away knowing they have seen something like it before. The movie delivers what it promises, and goes a long way with the material, but falls into similar traps as previous necrophilia/extreme attempts. It's always a joy to see that people are still trying to push things far, but it's apparent that almost everything has been done multiple times by now, and thus making it harder to stand out.Tom Heidenberg is making it clear what he wants with "Necrophile Passion", and I am confident in saying that it's a name that we'll hear more of in this community. It's extreme, trashy and very indie - there will always be an audience for these movies. Tom Heidenberg is already showing more promise in his work than some of the newer movies by people like Andreas Schnaas, Timo Rose and the likes (though they still have some of their charm, and probably has him beat on a technical level. Sometimes). I've personally come to be more picky with what extreme movies work for me, and few actually do work. "Necrophile Passion" is better than it could have been, but it'd be a stretch to call myself a fan. I'm glad the movie actually works with a plot, that's more than some. I doubt it will shock you, but it delivers the naughtiness promised, and you can decide for yourself if that's enough or not.More reviews at FilmBizarro.com
