Tells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.

The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

Tayyab Torres

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

But in my view, what the previous commentator described are what made the series (in particular this episode) so entertaining! I love the backgrounds, and would love to know how Dick Ung and Tom O'Loughlin did that thing with the spots and paint crease effects. I would love to be able to get that music on CD. I also like the way that some of the guide-lines are left in on this short, gives the film a rough, primitive feel to it which adds to the nature of the hunger chase idea. I like the voices too. i'd like to track down more of John Byners's work. "What do you think of that? (BOOM) I know what I think of that, but I shouldn't say it in public."

The Ex-Warner-Brothers team from Termite Terrace left to form DePatie-Freleng and did a bunch of poor work. 'The Ant and the Aardvark' series was one of theirs. It was like the Roadrunner series, but from hunger. In this one, Aardvark tries to catch the ant using sugar cubes and fishing gear. The animation is poor, the backgrounding is ugly and the characters are one-note. -- all the writing talent that made Looney Tunes a success was missing.About the only thing that is consistently interesting about the DePatie-Frelengs is the music. This one sports a small Dixieland-style score. That won't make it worth your while.
