Better Late Then Never
A lot of fun.
The lead character is appealing: a broken woman who starts to find her strength. The men she has to deal with span the spectrum from desperate nerd to comforting carer to terrifying, glassy-eyed psychopath. And there is a bit of a mystery to lead us on: are her strange experiences delusions or a special gift of insight? This is a very unpolished movie: it's not Hollywood slick and manipulative, but it is emotionally confusing. There is no time spent getting to know the background characters; they just appear and start doing their thing with no explanation of the past history. For that reason it's hard to relate to the plot and its resolution.
View MoreWent to the premiere of Night Eyes in Hilversum. It is the story of Linda who drives home, and when she is there she finds her own car on the driveway. I found the beginning of the movie a little slow, but the tension is there from the beginning. Very well acted! That makes it a movie that grabs you from the start. Not everything is clear from the beginning - like why Linda has to drive that long to a house somewhere... But if you have read the book (Jack Lance Nachtogen)you'll get even that. You can cut the tension, it is very good acted. The characters get enough depth. It is unbelievable that this film is made with such a low budget (100.000)and just a few actors. If found it nail-biting good!
