It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.

View MoreNobody Nobody But Juan is a decent comedy that stars Dolphy, the late King Of Comedy, together with Filipino movies icons like Eddie Garcia and Ms Gloria Romero. The movie tells the story of a U.S.-based senior citizen named Juan who lives in a senior citizens home run by his son and daughter-in-law. Juan's favorite pastime is watching Wowowee on The Filipino Channel, though he does not watch the show just for entertainment's sake. Aside from wanting to connect with the Philippines that he dearly misses, Juan is lonesome for his first love Aida, with whom he lost touch during the Japanese occupation of Manila. Wowowee is Juan's way of coping with homesickness and reliving the past. When watching Wowowee is banned in the home, Juan takes drastic measures to watch his favorite TV program. In his quest, he crosses paths with his old friend Tu who used to be his partner in the vaudeville duo Juan Tu. He then meets Wowowee host Willie Revillame when he was dragged by the dancers. He tells Willie about the things that happened in his old age. After he told the story, he then sees Lolay shouting his name. Lolay introduces him to Willie again and introduces Tu. The guards see Tu and chase him down. Juan and Lolay also chase Tu. Tu hides in a branch of Mang Inasal and orders a Jumbo Roasted Chicken. Juan finds him and tells him why he was being chased down. The guards find Tu. Tu tells the guards that he would go to his family before going to jail. Juan is then reunited with his long-lost love Aida ,whom he found out had married Tu.The movie has an average story line that will be interesting and at the same time sentimental especially for old Filipinos living abroad.Aside from that, the plot capitalizes on the most popular show in the Philippines namely Wowowee. The acting is somewhat decent considering that Dolphy's comedic skills is outdated but it makes up for the portrayal of his character,Juan. While the rest of the cast including Garcia and Romero could be considered fine but far from outstanding. Overall,it is a good film to see as it provides fun and entertainment.
View MoreThis is an example of the Filipino's most professional entertainers making a comedy with a point for all to see - not just Filipinos but everyone with a heart and as desire to make things better for their families and friends. It blends in evenly with "Wowowee" - the #1 entertainment show in the PI - and includes clips from the show that if you wanted to know what the big deal was about. And yet the story was portrayed by Juan Dorphy - an extremely popular comic veteran and Poke wan - A comedienne - Tina Turner type who you just love to watch to see what outrageous thing she will do next. The subplot involves the owner of the sanitarium, his wife and brother and how he juggles or not all these pieces together.
