I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
View MoreDon't listen to the Hype. It's awful
Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
View MoreStrong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
View MoreThis is one of those sweet little movies where nothing too exciting happens but you can't help to enjoy ...... especially on a Sunday afternoon
View MoreThis is one of my favourite genre, the tales about aging people. A rare kind. The lives, the struggle they go through, really melts my heart. So I won't miss such films. I have a long list of such films which are my favourites. And this is another fine one to add to it.Superb casting. I could not miss Redford films of the recent. At this age, he's phenomenal. And Jane Fonda was equally great. Another Netflix's wonderful product directed by an Indian filmmaker. This was about two old guys, been single for a long time. Now trying to connect, with some effort, they develop an understanding relationship. But not everybody around is happy with it. They have to face them and keep it going. Afterall at this age what they have set to lose!More like a real life event. There's no any twist, not like a surprising incident. Just beautiful, a kind of love tale. Obviously a little slow, but totally worth it. If you like drama films, this will be a treat to watch. Based on the book of the same name. My only issue was, the end was ordinary, though an acceptable one. Surely, the families, the middle aged members and above would enjoy it. One of the best films of the year.7/10
View MoreIt's a movie you will watch because Robert Redford and Jane Fonda star. And then it is so obvious, so "deja vu". I know movies are business but aren't they tired of portraing the same over and over again? Nothing is dirty, nobody knows where they get the money, they have losts of clothes, their houses are perfect (except his door); do people live that way?, do people suffer "loneliness" in that comfortable way? Is everybody so indiferent to religion?
View MoreGood movie, good chemistry, professionally speaking between Robert and Jane. One possible goof is when he dragged out his O gauge train set he stated he and his daughter bought it by "mail order". Next you see a BNSF engine on the tracks. That paint scheme didn't come about until 2005. Maybe I'm wrong but mail order may have been phased out long before with the creation of the internet.
