This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

OK....I'm biased, my son worked on the film and acts in it ! But it was Daniel, who's early enthusiasm for drifting eventually had me accompanying him to UK events. The sport is incredibly exciting, and the science, engineering and commitment behind it all are very impressive. Outsiders holds audience interest on several levels.....the characters hold your interest....Mitto is just so good as a presenter, Phil Morrison, the self confessed 'shy' man...is solid as a rock, and Daniel...if Angelina Jolie needs a new sidekick....... he looks the part (a funny thing, seeing one of your own family on the big screen). The excellent documentary style gives an insight into Japan... I would have liked to have seen a little more more of the country and it's folk, but what was seen was an excellent backdrop to the main event....drifting.

Pre-ordered outsiders from Driftworks without a thought, almost forgot about it until all of my friends reminded me of the looming release date, upon its arrival I watched it immediately to be blown away by an absolutely perfectly shot production showing a fair bit of the history of skidding, and a lot of the Japanese culture we know so little (bar speculation) about.Touches on bosozoku culture, street drifting, night life, lifestyles and most importantly the original tuning and driving entrepreneurs. Also provides a good insight into the tracks, and how what you see in a video on you-tube isn't always what the tracks like. All in all, a very well shot production that i'd recommend to anyone interested in drifting or car culture in japan in general.

I found this film to be a great insight into Japanese car culture from a visitors perspective. I felt that the film was informative in regard to some of the idiosyncrasies of Japanese culture. The Driftworks team provided a mature and informed look at the Japanese car scene. It was great to see the RC stuff and also to get a look around shops like Autobacs which seem to be like a mecca to those of us obsessed with JDM car stuff. The drifting was good, the camera angles brilliant and this is all served up with a great soundtrack. It made me even more determined to get to Japan and sample this for myself.
