Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny

It has been five years since the disappearance of Katie and Hunter, and a suburban family witness strange events in their neighborhood when a woman and a mysterious child move in. Paranormal Activity 4 is for sure way better than the first three films but also way more creepier too as a whole. For example the knife scene? or the girl sleeping and getting lift up in the air? or just the ending as a whole? The film has it's flaws for sure and i know why some people hated it as a whole but i enjoyed it way more than the last 3 movies together i'm afraid. (7/10)

Great instalment in the Paranormal Activity series. I personally like it just as much as the first three films but it is the first one that doesn't have the sisters (Katie or Christie) as the main character, this one moves to the next generation with Hunter. The movie contains are the familiar Paranormal Activity quirks including jumps and frights and home-video style camera work - the things that characterise the Paranormal Activity films.Great, scary, worth a watch.

Sadly he died right after filming wrapped up from a heart attack. He starred in this crappy movie with his real life wife Alexondra Lee. I was never a fan of this franchise to begin with but I liked him so I gave it a shot. slow and plodding and just a rehash of the previous 3. They should put this franchise to rest.

If part 2 was more of the same, and part 3 was more of more of the same, then part 4 is more of more of more of the same, adding virtually nothing new to the tried and tested Paranormal Activity formula. Once again, a family are pestered by a demonic force that makes it's presence known by moving assorted household items and stamping its feet; these occurrences coincide with the arrival of a neighbour's child, Robbie (Brady Allen), who stays with the family while his mother is in hospital. When Alex (Kathryn Newton), the teenage daughter of the family, and her boyfriend Ben (Matt Shively) realise that something strange is amiss, they set up the family's computers to record the spooky goings on.Directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman then proceed to run through the same old tricks that have served them so well in the previous three films, only this time around the numerous jump scares are even more predictable and rarely have the desired effect. What Paranormal Activity 4 does have going in its favour is its young actress Kathryn Newton, who is extremely pretty and surprisingly talented: she carries the majority of the film, and I believe that she could be a major star. She'll need to distance herself from predictable junk like this in order to do so, though. Here's hoping she gets some better projects in the future.
