Horrible, fascist and poorly acted
Good story, Not enough for a whole film
It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
View MoreVery good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
View MoreThis short movie is based on a short story "Problemat Czelawy" by Stefan Grabinski from 1920. It is rather a psychological thriller but not a horror movie. It may seem to be shot in an old-fashioned manner, but it is a pretty interesting production. The atmosphere in this movie may seem quite eerie. Indeed it appears to be quite depressing - especially during the events happening in the sleazy den. The cast is good. Eugeniusz Kujawski handles his dual role very well. You may want to check out "Dom Sary" (1985) with him as well. Plot: Wanda is experiencing regular visits from a mysterious man who abuses her while her husband (Prof. Czelawa) is asleep next to her. She consults Dr Janusz Stocki about this as she thinks these are hallucinations. Stocki - a psychiatrist - uses hypnosis to find out that these visits are for real. He further investigates these findings to discover that there is an immoral man in the city who looks exactly like Czelawa but is called Stachur. Stachur and Stocki, when they finally meet each other, engage in a psychological battle which ends with an unusual resolution.
