The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.

Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.

I saw this film on MST3K, and can really not add that much to what has already been said. This movie really is that bad, and incredibly historically inaccurate. It also rips off Citizen of the Galaxy with the whole "beggar/spy-in-foreign-land-buys-slave-boy-for-secret-society -and-gives-him-special-training" I'd also like to point out that they not only filmed a renfest in Northern California for the medieval/renaissance/whatever setting, but the exterior of the Ancient Greece scene was apparently filmed in San Francisco at the Palace of Fine Arts. The guys really do suck at crafting a story or directing, but I've got to give them credit original cheap sets solutions. They're Ed Woodian in their ingenuity!

This is one of the worst MST3K'd movies ever, up there with "Prince of Space" and "Zaat" (which, of course, isn't a movie, but . . .). The plot involves an annoying girly boy (Allred) who is attempts to free Europe from the Dark Ages. Also along for the ride are David Warner as the old guy (forget his name, was it Baydool?) who saves him AND the bad guy, Lord Voltaire (an 11th Century Darth Vader with eagle wings on his helmet), Brigid Conley-Walsh as the whore-princess Thena, David Kreig as a woosy Leonardo DaVinci, New Yorker Richard Kind (who doesn't even hide his accent) in cameo as a bumbling wizard who provides some REALLY lame comedy relief ("I'm no good with maps - I can't even find my way to the moat!" Har har), and Olivia Hussey (regardless of age, she's still gorgeous) in another cameo as a queen who has no bearing on the plot, and some guy who screams "I'm coming!" OVER AND OVER AND OVER like Cheech Marin. Throw in inconsistancies with the storyline and historical inaccuracies (see semi-automatic "pistols" of the 13th Century! And the army of pirates, sultans, Vikings, Jesters, et al Voltaire amasses!) and you've got yourself a really lame flick. Not the worst film ever, but then again, it has some pretty stiff competition. The MST3K version was good, if nothing special. Pearl in theater wasn't as funny as it probably should've been, but it worked. One star for "Quest of the Delta Knights"; Seven stars for the MST3K cover."I'M COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I just want to inform some people that Robert A. Heinlein wrote a wonderful novel called CITIZEN OF THE GALAXY. It is one of my favorite science fiction novels. However, I am annoyed by the movie QUEST OF THE never mind I don't even feel like completing the title. Why do I mention it?When I first saw this on MST3K, I saw so many things that had apparently been lifted right out of the beginning of CITIZEN OF THE GALAXY: The slave boy in bandages purchased by the beggar who turns out to really be a spy... At the auction scene, the beggar even does the same thing in his bidding--he bids a certain number, but several denominations of currency lower than expected, and is sold the slave after all because nobody else wants him.To those who said there were some neat things that could have been done with this movie, I say read Heinlein's CITIZEN OF THE GALAXY.

And that was how I first saw this terrific movie. How actors like David Warner and Richard Kind got into this movie...I just hope they got new agents after this one. Terrible sword and sorcery movie. Just awful. But made wonderful by Mystery Science Theater 3000.
