This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

Full disclosure: I'm quite familiar with Nacogdoches, having lived there for six years. It's a magic place, and very hard to describe. Thankfully, RAINBOW'S END has made it so I don't have to. The film follows a rag-tag collection of Nac rats on a bus as they embark on a quest to meet the Legendary Stardust Cowboy. To describe the cast of characters as "eccentric" would not even scratch the surface. From Peter, an aspiring singer stuck in 1978, to the cock- fighting Birdman, to the baton-twirling Audrey...There is no shortage of laughs. And that narrator tho... It's hard to get your hands on a copy, but when you do you won't be disappointed.

A movie about a bunch of eccentrics and characters. Can it be real? At first you feel like you're in an insane asylum, then you realize the heart and soul at the core of this beautiful narrative in the body of a documentary. Eric Hueber has a subtle touch and adds humor with the wonderful voice-over from Don Morrow. Dreams are wanted, dashed, and achieved all during the short ninety minutes. This is a movie you will want to see and to find. All of the characters from Country Willie to Birdman the cock fighter to Audrey the baton twirling web diviner will become a part of your family in a matter of minutes. You will begin to dip into the child-like imagination inside all of us.

Rainbows End is the story of a band of native East Texas misfits. Literally a BAND. Country Willie and the Cosmic Debris. They head west to record with The Legendary Stardust Cowboy. Along the way, the unexpected plot unfolds. The arc of this film is surprising and endearing. The cinematography by Phillip Roy is insightful. He has done some beautiful work and captured an unbelievable story. I'm sure the end result was not what they all set out to film, however, you never know when lightning will strike. This film has all the elements I love in a project. Humor, drama, tragedy and wisdom. My favorite line from Peter the Band is "The air you are breathing is invisible."In it's simplicity is it's genius. This film should surprise anyone who dares to enlighten themselves by Rainbows End.
