Terrible acting, screenplay and direction.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

If you're looking for a non-stop gore-fest, this film might not be for you. However, if you are a lover of both innovative, indie character studies and films that make it on the most disturbing lists, you just might love this film.Red, White and Blue chronicles the collision of three troubled adults who are all suffering in their own ways, lashing out at those they feel are responsible. You get to know these characters well. You care about what happens to them unlike most of the one-dimensional twenty somethings that are thrown into most modern horror films just because they're aesthetically pleasing. They are deeply flawed, but sympathetic in their own ways. Each of the three main characters display the capacity to love as well as brutalize. Their multiple layers make you question whether or not to loathe or root for them. Simon Rumley uses quick cuts and fast pacing to convey a lot of information and story in a very short amount of time. He shows rather than tells, allowing each character's actions to speak louder than their words. The limited dialog is almost exclusively utilized as a vehicle to tell each character's unique back story, so that the viewer will understand why they do what they do, regardless of whether or not we agree with their motives. This is not a film that is going to tie everything up into a neat little package and make you feel as though justice was served. This is a film about suffering and desperation. There is no possibility for a happy ending.

"A movie that starts slow but totally make's up for it in the last stanza! Wow!" This movie was, at the start, lagging and the story was everywhere, but after the first 50 minutes it all starts to come together. The film kind of changes tact and there are some quite horrific morbid scenes. It's all about revenge but at the same time it has a unnerving feel to it. I have to say it kind of shocked me a bit as you weren't ready for how and where the film was heading. That is part of the reason why I liked this movie more than I thought I would. But if you are thinking of watching this film, be warned that it's violent in parts and it can be sickening for some. I give it an 8 out of 10.

Slow burning leading up to the point of the film follows a girl named Erica who spends her time never forming lasting relationships but sleeping around and living an existence. She meets a guy called Nate who has a true bonding with her and its not the sexual kind and he spends his time trying to form a relationship with her and look after her. Unfortunately for her a previous conquest comes back to bite her in the ass with terrible consequences for all those concerned. Gritty, grizzly and depressing movie that takes it's time to build up the whole point to the film but about half way into the movie it all clicks into place and you figure out the way it will end. Hard to watch in places but compelling and you want to know the way it will end. Not bad acting at all and to say its a low budget film it was really good. It was by no way a horror in the slasher sense of the word but really had a point to it. Like i say its a good film but it's certainly not hearts and flowers.

Incredibly dark indie deals with Erica, an emotionally empty young woman who has unprotected sex with anyone she can, including a four-way with a garage band and it's lead player, Franki. Enter Nate, an oddball stranger who helps her find work when she's about to be kicked out of her apartment. The two form an unlikely bond. Meanwhile, Franki is caring for his cancer-stricken mother. After he gives some blood to help her, he's soon informed that he has HIV. Horrified not only for himself but for what he's given his mother, he and his bandmates set out to find Erica. Bad choices are made and revenge is brutally dished out.Simon Rumley's film is one of the bleakest I've seen in a while. Austin is the backdrop as we watch damaged characters making choices that lead to their undoing. It's hard to say who's to root for here, and a revelation regarding Erica midway through adds a whole new layer to the proceedings. I respected that Rumley left in numerous ambiguities throughout, as it made for a more intriguing structure. The acting is strong across the board with Noah Taylor, Amanda Fuller and Marc Senter all vying for the title of most disturbed. Senter, who played memorable nutjobs in "The Lost" and "Cabin Fever 2", actually gets outdone this time around. There's also a memorable scene of a family being held hostage.
