A gritty mind-bending thriller about three twenty-somethings who find themselves in an impossible time labyrinth, where each day they awaken to the same terrifying day as the preceding one.

Admirable film.

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

Firstly can I say - I really enjoyed the movie. I thought it was well acted and gripping throughout. I even like the 'ending' which most people seemed to have a problem with.My two different opinions of the story arc:1/ The 3 of them are dead from the initial accidents. This would explain why upon repeating the days, the electrocutions didn't repeat - because this is something that was fixed/ they were dead/ and no way to change that. The 3 characters were in Purgatory or Limbo as they say. The Days are repeated so that the souls can learn of their errors or take stock of their lives. Burdens can be lifted with the journey to put things right. In effect, none of it (after the accident) took place in this conscious world but the soul was given a change to learn and move onwards or not. As for the character who went the wrong way - then he was made to face his worst fears over and over. On one hand, he died (but he was already dead) which signalled the end of the other 2 characters retrospective loops. Yes the end was in the sanitarium, not a prison. He woke to his fathers image as he was forced to feel that pain over and over again. He wasn't physically with his father at that point. The film opens with the quote 'Dont wait for the last judgement, it happens everyday' - IE its not about the end result but the journey in getting there.Other Opinion: After the accident, their days repeated for the reasons above - until wrongs acknowledged and put right. Lessons learned. So when the day moves on, its because all directions had been chosen. For Sonia and Kyle, they had acknowledged the wrongs and took steps to amend/move forward. For weeks his direction was the opposite one. At this point, weeks had no remorse and no accountability thus his soul was damned. He was forced on one hand to 'live' with his own torment (IE dad)over and over. On the other hand, he still had a part to play in Kyles salvation hence the kidnapping. He was there, on Thursday, playing his chosen role in the showdown, but his soul was already damned. Back in a loop ad infinitum until he learns remorse and lessons

First off, don't watch the trailer. It gives away too much of the meat of the movie that you probably shouldn't see till it plays out past you. One of those go-in-blind movies. I just watched it and it's a pretty good DRAMA. Don't expect flashy special effects here. 3 young adults in a half-way house experience an electrical shock during a storm and get stuck in a day-loop, not unlike Groundhog Day. This is NOT a comedy. The 3 realize pretty early on what is going on and decide to 'ride it' doing different things every repeat, goofy and fun early on, then turning dark..and deadly. Good photography, direction and especially good acting from the three unknown leads. Worth the time.

As it states, I'm not going to repeat what you already know.In the strange event that today repeated itself, tomorrow, and the next day, and so on. Questions you would ask yourself would be grand, and this movie does NOT leave many questions. If you were given the same day to do what ever you want, would you kill, would you murder, would you rape, or would you save a life? these are possibly already questions you may have. Luckily this movie gets to the darker groundhogs day that some people may have been thinking about the whole time. I mean why wouldn't some one want to go rob a bank, or possibly commit a even more heinous crime? Tomorrow it wouldn't count right? This movie bends your emotions, plays with your mind, and doesn't stop until the end. This movie does lack real depth, which may cause you to not be as close with the characters, or may cause you to lose interest. But with that being said with what depth it tries to create it isn't a reason that this film should be avoided, not by any means. The filming is perfect, it captures the lovely British Columbia that I've loved since I was a kid, and happens to make a wicked back drop for the entire film. There was only one actress I knew in this entire film, which was Amanda Crews, asides from that I have never seen any of the other actors/actresses in anything. If they have been in several other works than that would explain how their acting helps this movie on so many levels, it will play with every emotion no matter how heartless you are.But if this is actually one of their few jobs they pulled it off perfectly.I couldn't give this anything less than a 6

Repeaters is a familiar idea - get to replay days over & over until you get it right. But I liked this one as there is an interesting take on how different people see this gift/curse differently. Makes you think what would I do with a second chance? Even though the theme is basically the same as Groundhog Day that's where the comparison ends. Best moment - girl tight ropes on a bridge - pretty tense. Worst moment - when Mike goes over the edge at the end (pretty predictable). Actually if you are interested in this theme read REplay by Ken Grimwood - a new slant on the theme - much better than this movie. (Or Stephen King's 11/22/63) DonB
