Too many fans seem to be blown away
That was an excellent one.
While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
View MoreThe tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
View MoreI am not a Seventh Day Adventist, but I am a Christian and I do believe they got a lot of things right, at least to some extent. If you believe the Seventh Day Adventists then you also have to believe Ellen White was a prophetess, and I do not believe that -- as well as some other things. All that said, I find the information put out by this church generally worth chewing on, including this film. Regarding the beliefs about the Catholic Church and/or the Pope being 666, they put across a very strong argument. Also regarding the other symbolism that easily fits with Rome. It's very interesting and strange how the current Pope does not seem to care much about Jesus as Saviour of the world but is more about unifying many religions into one. One world government and one world religion equals one world dictatorship. The Bible DOES say that there will be someone that is known as a man of peace who will be seated at the throne in something like a one world government and that that person would be the prophesied Antichrist. Could it be the Pope himself? Well, it is really a strange situation altogether. I mean, who doesn't want peace? But at the expense of no longer following Jesus, for me the answer is no.
View MoreI'm an adventist myself, so I might be less critical than someone else. I think most of what is said in the documentary movie are historical facts. However, Doug's conclusions might be biased, using a supportive argument as a proof, sometimes. There is some harsh criticism of the papacy, as well as of the medieval clergy. A catholic believer might be offended, this is the perspective of protestant believers. Still, I think it's worth watching for anyone who's somehow involved with Christianity or at least Christian culture, so you can understand better why something is as it is.I like the video illustrations, they are filmed well, I also like how it's illustrated with art (paintings, statues, ...) The speech is quite fast paced with short intervals for the speakers, some might like it, some might not.
View MoreBe it SDA or non-SDA production, i think all documentary has a proposition. That is just the nature of such production. As long as it is Bible based i would take that. My beliefs background is "Sunday Protestant". Interesting to know how other denomination sees prophecies. There is no doubt the world is converging towards destruction and I could not agree more to the video that humanity will somehow look towards heaven for answers. At the very least, this video intrigued me to study more about my Bible.I would also suggest any other considering to watch this video to view it with open minded-ness. We are all free-agent and individually make up our own decisions on subjects. I would not agree with whatever value presented from the video and take it as the truth but to validate it by the only standard, the Bible.Apart from the content itself, the visual illustration is quite movie like. At least, it is not those ugly fake ones that make my eyes cry~ :)
