It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

View MoreThe storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

why is there no option for zero put of 10? i suppose the only reason could be the DVD could actually be used as a coaster and provide some reason for being. This film is easily the worst thing i have ever, ever seen.........except maybe for Anaconda 3 which made me want to chew my own face off.....there is no start, no middle, no end, no point, nothing good, nothing worth discussing.all i want to know is who i write to in order to get the hour and a half or so of my life back that i wasted in the vain hope that something remotely watchable was going to happen.... which, incidentally, it didn't.
View MoreRottweiler (2004) * (out of 4) THE TERMINATOR, CUJO and a few political thrillers are all thrown together by cult director Yuzna and the end result is pretty bad. Set in Spain in 2018, an American prisoner escapes from prison only to be chased by a sadistic rottweiler who he eventually kills. What he doesn't know is that the dog is a cyborg and keeps coming back to life and will kill whoever gets in its way. Yeah, that's right now. I find it pretty funny that this flick was released in Japan as TERMINATOR 2018 but no matter the title this thing here is a real stinker. It's sad but I knew this film was dead on arrival during the opening prison escape as the special effects were so poorly done that you knew things weren't going to get any better. What shocked me was how much useless plot was in this thing because we've got countless genres going against one another and for the life of me I can't figure out what the director was trying to do. There's certainly a political side to this film and none of it ever makes sense. The American, Dante, is trying to get back to his girlfriend after the two accidentally entered Spain where he would eventually be held captive while she gets sexually assaulted by a madman (Paul Naschy). The political nature of the prison camp and everything else is just pointless and adds absolutely nothing to the film. Even if this political stuff works only fifty-percent that wouldn't be good enough because the horror side of this is also quite poor. The dog is never scary because you can tell when a puppet is being used and his steel teeth just aren't frightening. The entire chase of the dog and the American contains no energy, no flow and is simply boring all together. I'm really not sure why the dog wouldn't just go after his main target or why he needed to kill everyone else around him but at least the film didn't add another subplot trying to give the dog some sort of personality. The idea of a cyborg dog is pretty stupid but this film makes it a lot worse than it should be. Even the performances are all rather forgettable with the exception of horror legend Naschy who gets a decent sized role here.

Finally ,he will confront against a brutal nasty(Paul Naschy) and the gruesome robot dog. This is an exciting story about a convict on the run,William Miller stars as the hapless prisoner is wooden but his action scenes are well played. The mythic Spanish wolf man,Paul Naschy-Jacinto Molina-,is good as the sadistic villain,as always. The structure film is pretty plain and simple ,but concerns about the relentless pursuit and fighting among a fugitive and a savage dog following his footsteps. The picture is a remake from previous film titled : ¨The dog¨(1976)based on Alberto Vazquez Figueroa novel and directed by Antonio Isasi Isasmendi with Jason Miller, the first version develops a political intrigue with dictatorship included and resounding message. This new adaptation is a violent film with noisy action, stirring thriller and lots of blood and gore. The film is produced by Julio Fernandez(Filmax)with middling budget.Colorful and adequate cinematography by Javier Salmones,an expert Spanish cameraman(Romasanta,Thirteen chimes,The Borgia, art of dying) and atmospheric music by Mark Thomas(Dog soldiers,Agent Cody Banks 2).The motion picture is regularly directed by Brian Yuzna,a gore and guts expert director(Faust,Dentist 1,2,Society,Bride Reanimator).Rating : Average but entertaining.
View MoreThis movie is another proof that we, Europeans, can't find a middle way in cinematography: masterpieces are mixed together with big chunks of pure crap. Like "Rottweiler". An interesting story is massacred by stupid acting, idiotic storyboard and more idiotic lines. The main character has serious mental problems: he see and talk to his fellow dead former inmate and to his (former?) girlfriend. The little girl is, on the other hand, annoying and obviously, has nothing in common with acting. The three easterners in the cave (smugglers, bandits ?)just laugh like retarded morons every two sentences. And finally, the camp boss had the most idiotic lines you can heard in the entire world cinema history.Almost 30 years ago, another Spanish director made a little gem, a movie almost similar to this one (minus the sci-fi flavor): "El Perro". Go watch it, if you have the occasion. And then compare it with this awful movie. And you'll find that tens of years later and a new century doesn't mean necessarily what we call "progress". At least in the seventh art.Just two stars, one for the slaughtered story (RIP), another one for the music and the sound effects, who saves this film from being a totally submerged wreck. And one thumb down.
