I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

The production company that flashes up on screen at the opening of this movie - Christian Cinema - is a dead giveaway for what is to follow. SIX: THE MARK UNLEASHED is nothing more than a heavy-handed Christian propaganda movie in which the teachings of Christ are portrayed as a way forward to a peaceful and tolerant society while everybody else is going to Hell.To be fair, the film does start out as a fairly ordinary sci-fi thriller, set in a dystopian world with the usual governmental oppression. When the action shifts to a prison with the introduction of Stephen Baldwin's bespectacled preacher, however, things get REALLY preachy. And I mean REALLY. The Bible is shoved down the viewer's throat at every opportunity, everyone is converted, even the expected atheist guy comes to see the error of his ways come the end. The writers here definitely haven't heard of subtlety, making this a movie that will be completely off-putting to all but Christian audiences. There are a few familiar faces propping up this propaganda flick, not least Baldwin himself in an extensive cameo (and always on autopilot). Eric Roberts provides a brief, blink-and-you'll-miss-him appearance (at least he has the sense not to appear for longer) while Jeffrey Dean Morgan (WATCHMEN) is the erstwhile hero.

Just wanted to add that this movie has excellent writing, acting and I assume directing (not really sure what a director does-but the movie's quality, I assume, is dependent upon the director). Surprise, it is Christian related. The low marks attributed to the film are most likely Christian bashing hate mongers who have taken time off from their bigoted forums where they hate blacks, gays, illegals and Jews. Well at least their hate-speech here means other groups are getting a break from hate-crimes by these people. But back to the movie. It is adult oriented,in the true meaning of the word, and may not be suitable for sensitive children. It chronicles the very real Christian haters as can be found in the Christian-bashing reviews which have nothing to do with the movie itself, just its Christianity. The movie lacks heavy-handed Christian proselytizing, even though it gets close at time. But close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades and it is neither. It is ironic that the review-bigots lend credibility to the very story line that Christians are a minority persecuted by the majority of hate- mongers. Thanks to all the atheists for making the case for the movie. So if you are a Christian, enjoy the movie. If an atheist, go back to burning crosses on the lawns of Jews or blacks or whatever else you do for fun.

I have no idea why I watched this, because the fact alone that Eric Roberts and Stephen Baldwin are in it is off-putting enough. To summarize in a couple of sentences, the story is set in the future where people are implanted with these chips so that they are "programmed" to be mindless automatons. The "resistance" is a group of imprisoned Bible thumpers. If this is the future, it's a catch-22. Either way, you are "brain-washed" and told what to do. It honestly feels like the manifesto for the tea party movement. I don't think I've cackled with glee at a film in a long, long time. I actually thought it was meant to be a comedy. I kept asking "are they serious? Are they for real?!"I should probably mention that the acting and the dialogue are atrocious. I'm wondering how this ever got made. It really is THAT bad. Please avoid this like the plague.

Its seems that most of the heavy critics of this movie have a problem with Christianity anyway and what in the world does the Bush Administration have to do with it? Basically one should realize that if its a "end time" Christian movie--expect bible quotes, prayer and good natured characters. I think the movie could stand improvement in its writing. Some of the attempts in humor was weak and I just have problems in attempts to create popular one-liners. Its one of those movies where you comment on how you would re-write that scene while its occurring. The mind control Nazi like soldiers are getting old also.On a funny side, why would I want a Porche if it cant out run an old police car on straight roads? The driver says thats OK--we'll out run em on the hair pin curves. Thats why you need 150+ on the speedometer-- Folks just lighten up, have fun watching. If you don't like Christians and the their words "burn your very soul", don't watch Christian movies (duh) just as I don't watch movies with a gay theme because I don't approve of the lifestyle.
