Resistance fighters must stop a brutal dictator who uses high tech surveillance to rule the world.

Reviews
Ava-Grace Willis

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

Quiet Muffin

This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.

Phillipa

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

I really hate it when a Christian movie masquerades as a thriller, sci-fi or horror. In all likely hood this is done in order to sucker people into watching their propaganda pieces. Usually, I can figure it out before wasting my time because of the lame movie introductory write-ups. Phrases like "left behind" and "end of days" along with terms like "revelation" and "repent" are dead giveaways. This movie managed to avoid all such clues while hiding behind a sci-fi genre classification rather than "faith and spirituality" or "Christian". So, I got SUCKERED!!! But a few minutes into the story I noted that there was no swearing in situations when it was expected and that there was an "evil" telling people to have sex with anyone they wanted. Compounding that was the "evil" requiring virtually everyone to be on birth control and not letting humans continue to reproduce like rabbits and destroy the earth. It doesn't get more evil than that, for sure!!!The movie pretty much had decent actors and decent production values. However, the religious preaching was extremely distracting from what otherwise might have been an OK "B" movie. Furthermore, all of the religious people were nauseatingly sweet and kind, far, far different than many of the self-avowed Christians I know. The dialog was stilted, artificial and as I noted previously, sanitized "to protect delicate pious ears". Anyway, once I figured out that I had gotten suckered, I watched for a few more minutes, couldn't take the proselytizing and turned the infernal thing off. Usually, I will give an absolutely atrocious movie a couple of stars for good production values and maybe one more for a good cast. However, this movie's use of subterfuge and the constant preaching, cost it all but one star.If you like Christian movies, I can't tell you if this is the right movie for you. But, if you don't like them, RUN don't walk away from this very annoying film. Finally, calling this thing "sci- fi" is just a lie. At best, because of its religiosity, it could qualify as faith and fantasy. Religious films, religion and Christianity are fine by me. However, I don't want their pamphlets, their knocks on my door OR their propaganda, thinly disguised as a movie. I also can't stand that stoned look they get while regurgitating their canned spiels and their arrogant insistence that they KNOW the REAL truth. They even managed to reproduce those annoyances in this movie. Do yourself a big favor...watch something else.

Just wanted to add that this movie has excellent writing, acting and I assume directing (not really sure what a director does-but the movie's quality, I assume, is dependent upon the director). Surprise, it is Christian related. The low marks attributed to the film are most likely Christian bashing hate mongers who have taken time off from their bigoted forums where they hate blacks, gays, illegals and Jews. Well at least their hate-speech here means other groups are getting a break from hate-crimes by these people. But back to the movie. It is adult oriented,in the true meaning of the word, and may not be suitable for sensitive children. It chronicles the very real Christian haters as can be found in the Christian-bashing reviews which have nothing to do with the movie itself, just its Christianity. The movie lacks heavy-handed Christian proselytizing, even though it gets close at time. But close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades and it is neither. It is ironic that the review-bigots lend credibility to the very story line that Christians are a minority persecuted by the majority of hate- mongers. Thanks to all the atheists for making the case for the movie. So if you are a Christian, enjoy the movie. If an atheist, go back to burning crosses on the lawns of Jews or blacks or whatever else you do for fun.

I have no idea why I watched this, because the fact alone that Eric Roberts and Stephen Baldwin are in it is off-putting enough. To summarize in a couple of sentences, the story is set in the future where people are implanted with these chips so that they are "programmed" to be mindless automatons. The "resistance" is a group of imprisoned Bible thumpers. If this is the future, it's a catch-22. Either way, you are "brain-washed" and told what to do. It honestly feels like the manifesto for the tea party movement. I don't think I've cackled with glee at a film in a long, long time. I actually thought it was meant to be a comedy. I kept asking "are they serious? Are they for real?!"I should probably mention that the acting and the dialogue are atrocious. I'm wondering how this ever got made. It really is THAT bad. Please avoid this like the plague.

There is one problem with Christian movies: They are NOT labeled as Christian movies ("CH" rating or something like that). I have bought this movie discounted, but I still feel like I was robbed. I have expected "immense SF thriller" from "near future, about the mind control and the heroes who are the only hope to remove the dictatorship". What I got is almost two hours cheesy Christian propaganda, way too long, boring, cheesy, single dimensional, no effects, tragic dialogs. If I would be interested in such material, I can get plenty of this for free. There is NO action, NO SF (even Space Truckers are more SF than this!) The view of "God's" or "free" people to "dictatorship" is not even naive, it is complete off track. The "1984" seems absolutely great and thrilling in comparison with this piece of crap. "1984" is depressive, realistic, chilling view into communistic-like future with no chance for individualism and no chance to victory. Here you have totally unrealistic view to dictatorship - enemies are allowed to talk and encourage those who should be terrified by punishment, prison cell walls full of Bible texts, prisoners are dressed clean and allowed to pray etc. etc. The dictatorships DO NOT work that way. If you want to see how real dictatorships work in their "correctional facilities", watch Gray Zone, Killing Fields or Katyn. This is just very neat, very boring, generic Christian brainwash with very standard message: Ye shall be evangelized to the exquisite death by love of Christ and the boredom! So: I want $3 back and 2 hours my life too!
