i know i wasted 90 mins of my life.
Good concept, poorly executed.
Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
View MoreA film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
View MoreEnjoyable, simple short (15 min) documentary of photographer Chris Killip showing his photos – taken over a series of years – of the tiny English fishing village of Skinningrove, and recounting the stories of the people behind the images. The film's very simplicity gives it it's power. In a very short time we get insight into a number of things - Killip as an artist, the feel of a town with a dying way of life, the role of the photographer and artist in documenting a changing world. Almereyda has always had an admirable ability to make interesting films about small details instead of huge drama, and he does so again here. Not bad for a 15 minute short!
