After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

This is a movie written and directed by Bobcat Goldthwait (that also happens to have the gorgeous Morgan Murphy in the cast). If you read the synopsis you will immediately think this is an out there comedy, but in actuality Goldthwait does a brilliant job turning this into a nice little film. The story is about a woman, who in college- out of boredom- 'sucked off' her dog. Years later she is in a serious relationship and struggles with telling her fiancé about her 'experience' while in college. While the two are visiting her parents, she tells him about it but is overhead by her brother who confesses the secret to the entire family. Certainly, you can imagine this is a perfect scenario to have a 'Meet the Fockers' type of comedy but it turns out to be more about how families, friends and lovers learn to accept people and choose how far truth goes. Of course, there is humor in the movie- very dark humor- but you could change her secret to be her having killed someone, or her being a prostitute, etc. and the masses would get behind this as a 'heart-warming' movie. Instead, Goldthwait, chooses a very deviant event and then tells the story of a family healing. In the three films I have seen that Goldthwait has written and directed (God Bless America, World's Greatest Dad and Sleeping Dogs Lie), he has done a brilliant job of taking an extreme deviant event and intertwining it with a mainstream story. I thought it was brilliant of Goldthwait to avoid the mainstream 'confessions' and just go for the gusto. On a side note, I seriously cannot get enough of Morgan Murphy. There seems to be some connection between Murphy and Goldthwait as she appears in all of his films- and she is certainly not best known for her acting but rather her writing.

I think I was expecting more since this was supposed to be an edgy movie. The secret was odd but not exactly shocking. I can think of several other taboos that might have been more interesting.Acting was fair but as a viewer I felt removed from any real connection. There were several good scenes but they only served to relieve some boredom from too much conversation and uncomfortable relationship spats. The vision was there but the execution lacked.Characters needed more likability.

This is a film about a girl who blew a dog when in college (literally) and doesn't dare to tell her boyfriend. The only reason you could see this movie is if you are drunk with friends and want to watch a really bad film to laugh about. Forget Ed Wood films, this one is worse than anything you know. You arrive to the first hour without really knowing if it's a milded comedy or a drama -and not because it goes, as a Korean movie, between genres, but just because it is NOT funny NOR dramatic. The acting is poor, the lighting is terrible, the script is absolutely pointless and irritating (the dilemma is ridiculous, the characters are stereotypes or simply lame), yes, but the cinematography is the worse part; the direction is the same as in a porn movie (without the benefits of a real porn movie, of course), as if it were shot by a party-cameraman. You have the feeling it was shot in two days, I don't know why. If you arrived to this page because you liked the movie, go on and vote you didn't like my review; if you haven't seen it yet, you are warned. Cheers!

This movie was such a waste of my money. it was disgusting as well as disturbing. honestly, i would never recommend this movie to anyone. who thinks of a movie where a girl blows her dog?? seriously... it was a waste of my time. i kept watching the movie, hoping it would get better and a plot would emerge but that never happened. i'd rate the movie an F-. This movie should have been rated R for its disturbing nature. I would never let children of any age see this movie. this movie sucks. this movie is horrible. this movie was a waste of my time. i could have spent the night doing some worth my time instead of renting this movie. this movie was a waste of gas money to get to the store and definitely a waste of two dollars to watch it. pretty much, no one should watch this movie. this movie should be banned and burned.
