It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.

I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

An extremely boring 2hour movie that could have very easily been cut down to 90 minutes, or even a 40-60 minutes single episode. Confusing to some people that watched it with me, even myself to some degree. The documentary that I watched was more exciting to see, so just watch that instead. However if you like to see people eating through half of the movie by all means watch it. For those on here that say "chilling" or "intense" and whatever else, must have been watching wall paper aging because this was just a very bland movie unfortunately.

I AM JOKING I was young watching this film and it really disturbed me. I probably should have checked the age rating and left it for later. But as much as it scarred me, I felt wonderful after finishing it, a masterpiece, unlike anything I've ever watched before. The acting from everyone seems like they're giving it their all. There's not really anyone who drags the film away, just people who lift it up more. Daniel Henshall really makes his character feel like a genuine person. The realism in this film is phenomenal. I felt like i was watching the real Snowtown Murders. Never have I seen a film that left me with the feeling this one did. God bless you Justin Kurzel. Keep giving us gems like Snowtown and Macbeth(2015), just leave Assassins Creed in the past. This film is a must watch!!!

Snowtown, based on a true story, takes place just North of Adelaide, Australia, where a vulnerable young man, Jamie (Lucas Pittaway), falls in with a psychopath, John (Daniel Henshall), who has an intense hatred for paedophiles, gays, the obese, and drug users. Beginning with the harassment of a perverted neighbour (by chucking kangaroo parts onto his doorstep), John, Jamie, and a couple of other cohorts escalate their attacks, turning to murder.Unrelentingly grim from start to finish, Snowtown certainly isn't easy viewing, its authentic white trash characters and realistic 'wrong side of the tracks' setting adding to the downbeat atmosphere. Rather surprisingly, the film isn't all that gory (graphic kangaroo dismemberment aside), with even the most brutal death scene, that of Jamie's older brother Troy (Anthony Groves), being relatively bloodless. Perhaps the hardest moment to stomach is Troy sodomising his helpless younger brother: now THAT was nasty.Director Justin Kurzel's style takes a little getting used to (the first few scenes are fairly confusing) and there are one or two scenes that I'm still not entirely sure what purpose they serve, but overall Kurzel does a passable job for his full length debut. It's no Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer, but Snowtown is worth watching at least once for those who are fascinated by the darker side of the psyche.

This movie sounded interested, so I decided to watch it. I heard it would be disturbing but I couldn't even expect the extent as to how disturbing it actually was. Many scenes were shocking, and for me, at least three scenes had me very freaked out and were difficult to sit through. The character John, brought out a lot of fear in me. He was certainly one of the must cruel movie characters I have seen. I don't know if I liked or disliked the movie. I thought that several parts of the story were quite confusing, and I wish I could find a full synopsis of all the details and relationships within the story. Besides that, the cinematography was great. Overall, the movie was very unsettling.
