Twenty years ago, Kurt Cobain was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The world was told it was a suicide, but evidence would lead many people to believe it might be otherwise. The film investigates the possibilities that exist that Kurt Cobain's death might not have been a suicide, that the Seattle Police Department rushed their verdict, and the global media perpetuated lies and misinformation fed to them by Courtney Love that created the belief in many that Cobain killed himself—but when revealed to be lies—lead many to now question what happened.

Very well executed

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

Funny, strange, confrontational and subversive, this is one of the most interesting experiences you'll have at the cinema this year.

This movie is so well made. It draws you in from the beginning and keeps you in its clutches until the end that you knew was coming but hoped you wouldn't hear because the grunge rock loving teen inside you starts crying again. The evidence is clearly laid out. The facts are there. People have been arguing this since it happened but now there is an overwhelming amount of proof that the Seattle PD messed up, and they should have looked more into it. There needs to be a formal investigation so we can finally put it to rest. We want the truth for Kurt. He was such an icon in so many peoples lives that the fans deserve to know what truly happened.I hope people continue to spread the word about this movie because the truth really does need to be exposed, whether Courtney did it or not. Which she did.

Please, just please explain to me how can a person give 1 star to this documentary? Are you kidding me? This documentary has no BS in it, only facts, audio recordings, real documents, real experts and if you choose to not believe it, well that's YOUR problem, because you are too blind to see what's clearly a murder here. This movie exposes everything on the table, shows you only facts to rely on and it's basically the biggest proof you can have about the real cause of the death of Kurt Cobain. This movie was really well done, with excellent acting and mixes real audio recordings with the voice of the actors. This documentary is as real as it can get, and only a blind person can unsee that. If you want to continue the theory that Kurt Cobain killed himself because you want to hear Nirvana songs more depressingly or you just like Courtney Love too much, then don't even watch this documentary so you can say it's not worth the watch. If you really want to know the real reason Kurt Cobain died, then this movie is for you. We CAN'T let this pass through our eyes, Kurt Cobain deserved a better life, he was a beautiful human and he should have justice, especially when he's blamed for his own death. This film is really good and I hope it can bring justice.

Absolutely shocked at the contents of this film. (contains spoilers)The "cadaveric spasm" was never mentioned in the SPD reports like Tom Grant claims. The fingerprints were not legible, this does not mean that the gun was wiped down. There were seven prints analyzed, but they were not clear enough to be lifted. If there was no skin oil, partial prints, and smudges from his skin then that would be red flag. But that is not the case.Janis J Parker examined the actual suicide note for two weeks after Cobain's body was found. She confirmed that it was written entirely by Cobain's hand. Handwriting experts have questioned the suicide note, but have not been able to come to a firm conclusion because they were not examining the actual note. Some of these handwriting experts (examining the copy) did say it was entirely written by Cobain, none of them have concluded that it was not.The credit card was delayed. The officers that Tom Grant questioned about the questionable activity on the card after Cobain was found talked to the Seafirst bank, whom said that the credit card was delayed. Tom Grant was not happy with the statement, and still ignores it to this day. If you look at the top line of the credit card log provided by Grant - the first line reads "4/2/94 / $478.00 / DELTA AIR" this is proof that the credit card was indeed delayed because Cobain bought the plane ticket on April 1, not April 2. The toxicology results that Tom Grant mentions in the film - cannot actually be the true toxicology results. The toxicology reports were to be released to the Cobain family three weeks after Cobain's body was found, as a police officer stated to the media that day. The newspaper (that Tom Grant is trusting) released the "results" of the toxicology reports just SEVEN DAYS later, from an "anonymous source". This is impossible since toxicology results are usually known after 4-6 weeks, because it is an extremely thorough process that must be done extremely precisely. Tom Grant is trusting an unreliable source.Even if these toxicology reports were correct, Cobain would have still been unable to overdose - or be incapacitated. The lethal dose for opiate NAIVE individual is 75 - 600 mg, an opiate naives individual is someone that has a lack of experience with opiates and heroin. There have been several legal cases and studies in which heroin addicts have tolerated more than 1800 mg of heroin, and not even felt sick. Average daily dose for a heroin addict is 491 mg. Kurt Cobain had 225 mg in his system. As you can see, Tom Grant's logic is absolutely flawed. I am disgusted with this movie and it's claims.

My opinion isn't a popular one on this subject. I feel Kurt Cobain fans just want someone to blame because they don't want to admit their idol killed himself. Courtney Love was and is a junkie. Her stories don't add up, but if you ask her stories about simple things on any other subject, I highly doubt those stories will match up either. In all reality as big of a mess as she was in the following years, I believe if she did it she would have slipped up at some point and said something by accident. Yet she didn't, not even at her blackout worst. Using the argument that those closest to him didn't think he was suicidal is cheap. When a loved one commits suicide that is a very common reaction, nobody wants to admit they saw the signs because that's admitting they ignored the signs. I know this because I've lost family and friends to suicide. Pointing fingers and having someone to direct the blame and anger towards is much easier than dealing with the truth. Half of his songs can count as a suicide note, but of course he didn't mean those. It's normally to write about that stuff in a hurry, right? This isn't facts,it just points out what we already knew, Courtney is a junkie, the police botched the investigation, and instead looking at other options this man wants to extend his 15 mins of fame by prolonging a 20 yr witch hunt aimed at Love. Whatever really happened that night only Kurt and possibly someone else know, but they aren't talking. Save your time, listen to Pearl Jam and let Kurt rest in piece without dragging his wife and daughter through this over and over again.
