Yawn. Poorly Filmed Snooze Fest.
Waste of time
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
View MoreThe movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
View MoreAmerican Mission is your typical crazed slice of all-action spectacle from the one and only Godfrey Ho. The plot makes little sense but this appears to be one of his 'proper' productions rather than a cut-and-paste hack job. The film was produced in Hong Kong but shot in the Philippines by the look of it. A number of Western actors play the members of a hit squad sent to take down a criminal gang, and what follows involves endless shoot-outs, slow motion, and repetitive action. There's not quite as much unintentionally funny material here as in something like NINJA TERMINATOR or SCORPION THUNDERBOLT and at times you wish for the presence of a Richard Harrison or Bruce Baron to make you laugh. Still, you could do worse. It's hardly high art, but then you expect nothing more from Godfrey Ho.
