Song for Marion Trailers

Arthur is a grumpy pensioner who can't understand why his wife Marion would want to embarrass herself singing silly songs with her unconventional local choir. But choir director Elizabeth sees something special in the reluctant Arthur and refuses to give up on him. As she coaxes him out of his shell, Arthur realizes that it is never too late to change.

........I think that sums up the style and feel of this lovely little film. As Christopher Ecclestone says in the DVD interviews- this film is about the change in a man, and his redemption- a little like Christmas Carol-which of course was the inspiration for Its a Wonderful Life. This film is not in such broad a scope as those two films, but the emotions it conjures in the heart of the viewers are the same. Its all about spirit, overcoming self defeat and the harmony that can be achieved through social pathways.Good film, great script/direction by Paul Andrew Williams (A Fellow Pompey boy).-I wish it had had a few Oscar nods?-towards Stamp or Redgrave but-it was generally well received.More please Mr Williams.

William Corden... read 'em and weep

Believe it or not the last time I saw Terence Stamp in a movie was when he was Sgt Troy in "Far from the Madding Crowd". I saw him more recently on Charlie Rose and he still has that special "something" that separates stars like him from the run- of- the- mill pretty boys. This movie capitalizes on this quality, a gift that can stir emotions within you with just a shrug or a wry smile. In a genre that can very easily trip over into a parody or age tokenism this is a movie that negotiates the narrow path with marvellous empathy and understatement. Mr. Stamp is just outstanding in his part as are the rest of the ensemble. Not many movies of this calibre come along and it is one that you should make part of your experience

It was also called 'Unfinished Song', about the two aged couples who are opposite characters but strongly united by the one true mad love. Both are interested in different stuffs, one was keen to participate in a singing contest and another one was just want to hangout with his pals and play pokers. Most importantly they are not interfered into each others interest. But destiny diverts their path and how they react to it is the following story. The movie was cute with all the old fellows. Each of them were very nice alongside lead two. Don't forget, Gemma Arterton's supporting role was one of a strong grip to the movie's theme. She was the music teacher in the story, and her parts were also equally valued to the lead two. There were some similarities with 'Quartet'. But it was so pleasant and feel good kinda movie. The movie also had some of cool music tracks. The story leaves nothing you to predict except a little portion at the end. The end twist was also not a special but does a justice to the movies. In many parts of the movies, there are some humours which really brightens the viewers often. Just ignore what others say and sit back and enjoy the movie.8/10

This film is about a grumpy man who is not being supportive of his terminally ill wife's quest to sing in a choir competition."Song For Marion" is a simple film with no computer effects or fancy leads, but it touches people's hearts. It follows an elderly couple's life, with her happily engaged in a choir. Him on the other hand, is the polar opposite. We see the transformation of them, caused by circumstances of life. The husband's belated expression of love is rather thought provoking to me, as it reminds people to express our feelings before it's too late and pointless. Music is just a small pay of the film, but when it's featured, it's beautiful.I like this film because it touches the heart strings.
