Perfectly adorable
Instant Favorite.
It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
View MoreGreat movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
View MoreEva (Nicole Rio) is the principal at an all girls school and is big into conflict resolution. When her pot smoking cello playing daughter (Chelsea London Lloyd) is raped and killed, Eva jumps into action as soon as she recovers from the head trauma and remembers who attacked her and her daughter. The film is a vigilante revenge film. Eva develops an alter ego personality (Shawna Craig) who does most of the bad deeds and looks better in leather. The film then goes back and forth from a quirky revenge film to a grindhouse revenge film, not knowing what direction to take. This made the plot feel uneven as the dark comedy aspect of the film failed to shine through. Clearly the writing and direction takes the most blame and Nicole Rio seemed wrong for the role. Over all the acting wasn't over powering. Sheri Kresnicka and Eric Roberts were noticeably bad.In spite of the negative criticism, the film did have some entertainment value. The movie did have a few moments when it was so bad it was funny and at other times it was entertaining in its own right.Guide: F-bomb. Some nudity.
View MoreWithout question, this is the worst movie I've ever seen and hopefully the writer/director understands why it's so bad and gives up. There are so many continuity errors such as (spoiler alert) an exploding truck that is not noticed by anyone or ever explained or even the central situation: was the daughter raped and murdered? We don't ever see it and only know because someone says it. The acting is of course horrible, but how could it be any better with such a ridiculous plot? Unlike huge CGI blockbusters where you can see where every cent of the millions they spent on the screen, here you can see the $60,000 budget: bad costumes, bad lighting, bad cinematography, bad script, bad editing, bad everything. It's quite laughable actually that the writer/director thought he was making such a profound, intense exploration of revenge and being a woman and instead made a comedy!
View MorePlot: A Mother's Daughter gets (I think?) raped and murdered, Mother goes on a revenge spiral. Eric Roberts and Ricco Ross cash a paycheck.Review: I came across Story of Eva and rented it out of curiosity. Hoping for a mildly interesting revenge movie, I got one of the most convoluted, inane, WTF movies I've ever seen. Something will happen on screen, randomly, without provocation or reason and then the movie moves on. It makes you wonder if anything you saw actually happened or if the editor got drunk. What I saw was a movie as unintentionally funny as The Room. However, I want to see future Tommy Wiseau movies but I can't say the same for these film people. If the movie didn't get so weirdly sleazy, I might've recommended it.First off, there's some awful dialogue. I don't know if it started as a BDSM porn but this is a legit line:Woman in Disguise (first time Male has ever seen her): "Hey...you wanna go home and ****?" Male: (awkward beat)..."That would be FANTASTIC."There's lines like this everywhere. Much of the plot is incredibly confusing and made it seem like we're joining the movie halfway and we should already know these people. Things just happen with no explanation or reason. For example, there's a fade to black, then a truck that blows up. There's cops in the area but they don't react to it and no one comments on it. It's there to wake up the sleeping audience I think. Or for another, there's a long dialogue sequence where a guy is talking to a trafficker, then starts making a ton of wacky facial expressions and noises. It's kinda revealed he's getting a blowjob and the woman gets up and goes inside a box. It's never set up or paid off.Another example of plot confusion: we're TOLD that the mother's daughter is raped and killed. However, in the actual scene of that, she's lightly tapped from behind and falls down while the same happens to the mother. It's so clunky and hilarious that the movie keeps going back to that scene and making me laugh again.Acting: You can tell a lot of the actors are trying but the script is so muddled that they don't have much to work with. Eric Roberts shows up for some scenes and does nothing of value. In total: I don't recommend it. I wouldn't even recommend it for comedy value cause that means people might seek it out and spread it around like The Room. I don't want that for this, I don't want to encourage bad behavior.
View MoreI settled down to watch this film with my wife, three nights ago as we both like films of this genre (Death Wish, Double Jeopardy, Sleeping With The Enemy and so on). After fifteen minutes, we both looked at each other and she had a look of bafflement, as, I suppose, did I. It was DIRE! I've very rarely seen a film of such abysmal quality such as this and I very rarely review films on here. The abduction sequence near the beginning was unbelievably bad in its execution and the continuity was the worst that I've ever seen. The film progressed from one scene to another and left us thinking "What was that all about?" the lead actress, Nicole Rio, was wearing one outfit on one scene and she had another on when the camera moved back to her in the same scene! On this web page's entry under "Trivia" it says of this film's writer, Tom Woodbeck, "The film originates from a dream the writer had for over 15 years." I think he never should have woken up! So please, folks, do yourselves a favour and give this stinker a wide berth!
