Sadly Over-hyped

Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

Blistering performances.

The movie really just wants to entertain people.

A pretend travel guide to an imaginary place, seemingly modeled on an alternative or post-apocalyptic Soviet or Balkan republic. Whimsical and comical, visually creative and undemanding of the viewer. Just a fun little creative bubble.A couple, seemingly German, or Eastern European, go on a honeymoon to a not-ready for prime-time vacation resort. If a westerner had gone to the Soviet Union for vacation during the Cold War, they might have felt this was an Alice in Wonderland interpretation of their experience. Worth a look. I enjoyed it.
