What a waste of my time!!!
There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.
View MoreThe film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
View MoreStrong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
View MoreBack when video rentals first came to my small my Wyoming town, one of the first videos I rented with a fellow adolescent loser friend was a collection of Playboy Playmate videos. We had about as much fun two guys can have with an innocuous video of naked girls, but I remember being struck even at a young age at how we guys will sit there and listen to any vapid bimbo blather any ridiculous nonsense if she's halfway attractive and is going to take her clothes off. Not much is changed since then, I'm afraid, except that I'm a little more skilled with the TV mute button. The SuicideGirls are basically a bunch of strippers with tattoos, piercings, and "alternative" looks. However, if you've been to a strip club (or nightclub or drug treatment center) in the last ten years, you've probably seen plenty of young women with tattoos and piercings. These girls just have a lot more than average. Some of them kind remind me of a couple of my old girlfriends back in my punk rock days (and I still maintain it took a lot more guts to dress like this in Wyoming back in the 1980's than it does today when its practically mainstream fashion).Of course, the main appeal of this video is still T and A (with more than a few flashes of that other thing that doesn't have a polite initial). Beneath their tattoos and piercings, most of these girls could still pass for former prom queens (there are no "chubbies' or "ugos' in the lot). They all have a kind of latter-day alternative/punk rock "attitude", but that doesn't change the fact that 99 percent of the people that will watch this will be horny guys with too much time on their hands (and perhaps something else). Sure, these girls could be considered "feminists" in the Camille Paglia sense, but so could most strippers (even if most of them don't know who Camile Paglia is). Oh yeah, and as you might guess from the title this particular video was filmed at an Italian villa. The scenery is very pretty, if a bit of incongruous with the alterna-strippers in the foreground. By all means, watch this if it happens to come on cable and your girlfriend is out of town, but be prepared to make liberal use of the mute button.
