This is How Movies Should Be Made
Sadly Over-hyped
This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows
View MoreStory: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
The featurette begins with a couple of pioneers who make their way through American Indian/ Sioux territory. Then suddenly, they are under attack by the natives. Notwithstanding the somewhat racist and stereotypical nuances, this short is still great and isn't to a high degree of the aforementioned nuances. Partly because of a musical term in the title, which apparently leads to the music being featured in this. And there's a recurring gag with one Sioux who constantly tries to shoot an arrow into the air and recites the poem that is of the same, basic notion. This is one of several Lantz musical featurettes that showcase various ethnic groups. And that's probably more of the message on what these particular mini films are about somewhat: Bringing minorities into the spotlight more often. Lantz denied that his works were never meant to offend any race (probably to an extent from what I seen, which seems to be the case about most of them anyway, at least) but they brought everyone from different backgrounds together gradually but surely. It's mostly an alright Lantz Cartune and if anyone can pay no mind to the racial (or racist) tones and get into it, and maybe even consider it a guilty pleasure, then it should still make for a fine, enjoyable viewing.
