This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

that kind of movie who could become a mirror. dark, honest, a not complicated story about sacrifice, options, hope and the rhythm of a small group looking happiness. almost brutal as example of honesty, it is proof of refined art. because propose an actor and a director who have profound science to explore each detail in splendid manner. because the result is a large fresco about pain and about not ordinary joy. because it is not a manifesto or a fresco, but a testimony. because it defines Johnny Depp in a new light, not surprising but unusual. it is a not easy film because the message is result of each image. because the purpose is to give a fascinating story of life without any ornament. only the naked truth. and that fact transforms it in support of reflection. short, not an easy film. but useful .

it is not exactly a movie with Marlon Brando and Johnny Depp. or a story of a small community. it is a testimony about things who remains roots of images. a film as a trip. the acting, the script, the music are leafs of a state of soul because it is just an universal case who reflects crumbs of every life. it is defined by something who seems be a kind of September wind. nostalgic, cold, painful, honest, delicate, cruel, it is only shadow of a choice. an option. and only sin remains the expectations of some viewers about director and lead actor. because, more than a movie by a terrible child of cinema, it is a poem. a confession. a sketch for the use of public emotions, experiences, choices. that is all.

I was completely blown away by this movie.Johnny Depp is glorious as Raphael, what an outstanding movie. it left me heartbroken and shattered. Brilliant movie that needed several more viewings, once was not enough to absorb all that is there to be comprehended. There is a lot to absorb in this movie, Johnny co-wrote the script and also Directed it, if he decides to change from an actor and decides to continue as a Director there is not way he wouldn't succeed. I hadn't heard of this movie, I discovered it when I researched a list of movies he had made it. I am do pleased that I bought it knowing nothing about it. It certainly isn't a light and fluffy movie, but, well worth watching.

I truly love this film. Of all of Johnny's films so far, this one really touches me. I feel for Rafael and his family. No matter how many times I watch this film, I get very emotional knowing what is about to happen to Rafael. This film also shows Native Americans as they are and not in a white man's version of how they think Native Americans talk and act. I have a DVD from Korea but it is not the full-version and am participating in a letter writing campaign to Johnny Depp to ask him to release this beautiful film in it's entirety on Region One DVD form. If you would like to participate, please contact Firefly at bravecampaign@yahoo.com for details. This movie is worth seeing and should be seen in it's entirety!!!
