I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

12 people who appear to be already dead are placed together in a room where they must judge the most guilty and most innocent, with only one getting a "second chance." They must kill someone every 12 minutes or else it will be done for them, which would have been my one and only option. Some of the people are a preacher, Air Force member, robber, CEO, lawyer, cop, banker, mom etc. all the usual suspects. Their stories were pretty bad and their story telling was worse. The acting was sad all around as I was hoping they would all die slow horrible deaths. A rather pointless film.Difficult to sit through. Doesn't work as a rental.Parental Guide: F-bombs. No sex or nudity.

Okay first off I would like to say always consider a movies budget. Now of course I know that sometimes you still get good movies from lower financed films.OK from this point if you have not seen the film This Is A Spoiler!Okay let's look at the actors first. The only actors I recognize is Omar Gooding which is Cuba Gooding Brother. I also recognize Eric Roberts which is Julia Roberts brother. There is also a couple of other familiar faces. These actors have been in decent films. But they aren't A list actors from a long shot. Keep this in mind. Everyone else is pretty much no names or at least don't stand out among elites. So already that sums up your acting core. And that being said you can't expect much more than just that Again I'm not making excuses but the talent just wasn't there. Now on to the acting. It wasn't excellent , it wasn't horrific. Given for what was available it was decent. Nothing more nothing less. It has comical moments that will keep you chuckling to blend in with the suspense. A lot of people mention that this movie was about killing and having 12 minutes to do so. But I seen a deeper message in fact it mentions in the beginning that they had to kill the person who was the guiltiest. And it seems like no one ever thought about what if they killed the little brunette that kept whining. which turned out to be the main reason. How would that have of affected everyone else's role? Who actually went to heaven and who went to hell?Would you have enough heart to die for the sake of not harming another human being to save yourself? When you see a person, do things always seem as they appear? These are the things you have to ask yourself... I watched the movie about 3 times already , and to be honest I enjoyed it. If you're not afraid of everyday things that make you think, even the little things its at least worth a watch. The Painting in the room revealed many messages...

..was the rating on another movie site. That isn't the one I give it. When I saw 5.9, I figured it would be a decent movie at minimum. After the third or fourth spoken line, I paused the movie and checked the rating. The acting was that freaking bad. It said 5.9/10. I returned to the movie. I figured it would get better.I checked the spoiler box so if you missed it, you have one last chance to flee. When part of the group was released at the beginning, I thought to myself, "Oh they are getting rid of the bad actors. I won't have to see them again. The movie is really going to start rolling!" WRONG! The released group was taken to a private room and we would spend the rest of the movie TRAPPED with them. When it was revealed they had to kill off one another, I erroneously assumed they would kill off the worst actors first. Wrong yet again. If you haven't picked up on it yet, the movie is filled with bad acting. The only believable actor was the preacher (Thomas Howell). Everyone else was bad. Some ridiculously worse than others. When a movie fails, people discuss why so. Some say it was the acting and others will say it was the story or the lines. With this I can honestly say it was both. If you replaced these actors with Oscar winners, the movie would still fail because the dialogue sucks. There is nothing there. What makes things worse is that we never hear each person's story. How can you figure out who is the guiltiest when you don't know why most are there? It seemed as though there was quite a few innocents. The basic idea behind this was interesting but that's all.

I'm personally a huge fan of these type of movies, the "people trapped in a room" sort of thing (saw, cube, exam, would you rather, truth or die, nine dead etc). But this movie? Not so much.I get that it's a low budget movie and I really wasn't expecting much, but still this movie fails to deliver on every level. Bad filming, bad acting, bad set you name it. But the worst of all is the script. There isn't anything good I can say about it.The characters are so generic and boring they literally have no name. Seriously, check the cast credit and you'll see most of them don't have a name. The premise is flawed to begin with. 12 people are being told that every 12 minutes one of them must die until only 1 will be left. They say something in the beginning about identifying one of them but since that clearly isn't the case (some of them die totally random right at the beginning) and as the movie progresses it's completely disregarded. They start talking to each other and say why they are horrible people and deserve to die. Seriously? Why? Wouldn't that be the last thing you'd do? and why wouldn't they assume anyone would lie? And either way, the entire point is that they are going to die anyway, so either they should have simply waited their time or they should have gone on the offensive and started killing each other.Just waiting around and talking us to death makes no sense except the director had to waste an hour and half worth of a movie.Nothing really happens, just a bunch of pointless talking that doesn't really progress the plot.Last but not least is the twist in the end. I won't spoil it, but I'll just say it really wasn't worth it. It wasn't that much of a twist nor is it really that interesting and certainly not worth waiting an hour and half for.TLDR:Don't waste your time on this, you can find something far better to watch.
