Trapped within an eerie mist, the residents of Antonio Bay have become the unwitting victims of a horrifying vengeance. One hundred years earlier, a ship carrying lepers was purposely lured onto the rocky coastline and sank, drowning all aboard. Now they're back – long-dead mariners who've waited a century for their revenge.

Good movie, but best of all time? Hardly . . .

Aubrey Hackett

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Have you seen it? No? There is likely a very good reason for that...it stinks.Like nearly ALL the endless remakes and reboots that have been plaguing movie goers for the past decade or so....all this is, is a heartless version of the original. It has no heart. It has no soul.It is a retelling of a film that we all love and cherish...and it adds nothing to the story. It improves nothing but the special effects--which held up very well over time--and in some cases belittles the fans of the original...particularly in the fact that they remade the movie at all, without adding anything clever to it.Like so many other remakes it is a hallow shell of the original.

I can't believe that this film was so disappointing i mean the acting and the performances were fine, the ghosts looked creepy and there's even a great scene where an old woman gets melted but other than that the film is boring, it has stupid jump scares and it has one of the worst movie endings i have ever seen and i'm going to spoil it so here it is Elizabeth approaches Captain William Blake's ghost and the dude has never seen this girl and he grabs her and he kisses her and from out of nowhere she turns into a ghost and she leaves Nick for an old dude and as the film ends we see a picture from their wedding back in 1865 please tell me if any of this that i just wrote makes sense? Because it doesn't to me and the epic showdown was to kill Father Malone and Tom Malone. I honestly haven't seen the Original but maybe i should? Cause this film goddamn disappointed and none of this actors are bad you know Maggie Crace was good in Taken and some other movies so was Selma Blair in Hellboy and Tom Welling in Smallville and some other films too. I'm giving The Fog a 5/10.

This film is not that good but it is not as terrible as everyone makes it out to be. The original was done by John Carpenter. I believe John Carpenter would feel that it was done pretty good justice. It has removed the cheesy pirates that were in the original and replaced it with a more supernatural feel to it. Though some of the deaths in the movie are fairly cheap at times, I feel for a remake it is all around not bad. Anyone who enjoyed horror movies of the 70's & 80's then you want to check it out. I enjoy goofy and great old school horror movies. When a remake is done it should be far superior than the original or at least attempt to. This movie stays very close to the original which I enjoyed. Again this is not a great movie and it is border line crappy but it is not as bad as everyone reviewing it makes it out to be. It's a good Halloween time movie to watch on TV if it comes on. As much as I love John Carpenter I feel this movie is definitely better than the original. Not a lot better but it still is. Don't go out of your way for this but if it's on and it's in the Spirit of Halloween time then give it a watch with a few beers. Take it for were it came from.

No remake is as good as the Original movie and I agree with people who believe this too. I liked Adrienne Barbeau and Jamie Lee Curtis in the original movie and I think the original was more scary than the remake. When I saw the original version I had nightmares for weeks. I mean sure it did have a few good moments in it but nothing spectacular happened like in the original version. I mean the original keep me on the edge of my seat and gave me goose bumps on my goose bumps, but this version was a total flop to me and that they should've never did a remake of it. When a movie is made, they should never do a remake of it because fans are going to be disappointed and want their money back because the movie didn't live up to their expectations and scare them or whatever, depending on the movie.
