A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

I generally liked the cast and the idea, but I cannot stand the high-handed ideology being forced down my throat. I get it that this is about saving the planet. Give your audience a little credit for a modicum of intelligence. When we got to see the internet search images about the evil of mankind I turned off the movie. Done.I usually go into movies without reading the reviews. After turning this off, I browsed reviews, and, since many users disliked the end of movie, I had to chuckle at my decision to quit while I was somewhat ahead. I have a few friends who are Wiccan and I appreciate the love and respect with which they view the earth. I had hoped that the story could encompass that belief without the societal hate message professed by the fringe. Maybe I would feel differently had I watched the entirety of the film, but again, it was just too ostentatiously anti-civilization for me.

Where do I begin, the acting was horrible, the only one that could act in this film was the grandmother. And the part where Rhea decided she doesn't want to be an outcast anymore when they kill her goat so she decides to dress normally and all of a sudden shes the Gisele Bundchen of the school and all the guys loves her????That was the most ridiculous thing in the whole movie. Maybe if they got stronger actors and not Shoshana from Girls then it wouldve been alittle better, Agh I only finished the movie because once I start a movie I have to end it no matter how bad, do yourself a favor and save your time, clip your toenails or something, you'd get better satisfaction.

This is a great story that made me and my high school age children laugh and wonder about life. The High School and Rhea's friends as well as her interactions are all contemporary and very real. The magic and wonder evolves slowly and keeps one asking questions trying to figure out the nature of this family. Aidan Quinn as the father is superb and reminded my of how much I have liked him back to his role in Reckless with Daryl Hannah back in 1984. Virginia Madsen makes a great believable "almost" angry Mom. We loved and laughed with every appearance of the character Nika played by Jee Young Han, she was fantastic. The rest of the cast, including Zosia Mamet in the lead role were very will directed and enjoyable to watch. Hats off also to the role of Simon, we think played by Nat Wolff in glasses. The music is excellent. The art focus, paintings and sculptures are inspiring. Great film all around.
