Best movie of this year hands down!
This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.

View MoreI saw this as part of The Belfast Film Festival event "Soiled Shorts" and I loved every second of it. Obviously its very tongue in cheek, and the acting is purposefully hammy, but hands up who's ever seen a monster made of old video machines? Nope, not me, and it was fantastically done. The (short) film has a distinctly retro feel, which is all very intentional. Set in an old video store (which it confirms at the end really exists) it's a tale of the digital online giants trying to destroy The Last Video Store. There's a few quite Astron6 style scenes in there, and I don't want to give away how the monster is destroyed, but this was a fun ten minutes for me and I enjoyed too trying to see how many of those titles on the wall of the shop I own myself haha.
