The greatest movie ever!
Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
Purely Joyful Movie!
Highly Overrated But Still Good
I actually really enjoyed this movie- the all star cast really pulled it off - Yes the story and characters were twisted but lets face it - what in reality (esp nowadays) is not twisted? America should embrace real films like this as the American dream gives way to the exposure of reality. Dont live in Disneyland. Having said that - a profound movie is like a thought provoking essay - with an emphasis on THOUGHTS - it requires a certain level of intellect to appreciate.

Yes, the people in the movie have thick deep-south accents; please get the New England Patriots fans some smelling salts for their shock. I've been a Nicole Kidman fan my entire life, and this movie had me lusting after any other possible indie appearance she's ever made. Yes, she plays a dirty bad girl, & John Cusack plays a dirty bad boy; please get all the Grey's Anatomy fans & Kardashian fans a box of tissues for their grief. The twists with the characters Ward & Yardley toward the end are priceless. If you can't hack it, it's OK, just go see another Kong/Godzilla/Marvel movie & call it brilliant & go to Starbucks after.

View MoreEldest son Ward Jansen is a star reporter for a Miami newspaper and has returned home with close friend Yardley to investigate a racial murder case. Younger brother Jack Jansen has returned home after a failed stint at university as a star swimmer. To help give his life some direction, Ward gives Jack a job on their investigation as their driver. But into the mix comes the fiancée of the imprisoned convict who stirs up confusing feelings of love and lust for the young Jack. Meanwhile, Ward and Yardley's investigation stirs up deep-rooted issues of race and acceptance which could cause serious consequences for everyone involved. Easily one of the worst films Matthew McConaughey has starred in it gets really over the top at times and the 3rd act really ruined the movie for me so many great actors in a film that is just disappointing at best.
