Crappy film

Gary

The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

The claim to be filmed in the style of the Borat movie is ridiculous. This movie is just bad und has nothing in common with the Borat movie. Even on youtube you'll find better pranks. If you liked Borat you'll hate this movie. The jokes are pretty bad, typical german female comedy, all of the "jokes" are just vulgar or inappropriate references to her vagina or farts. In the Borat movie Cohen played with typcical cliché about eastern europeans, for example their hate towards jews or hin his later movie Brüno about homosexuals. If you want to copy such a movie, you have to at least use such cliché or actually dare to to funny stuff, even to face legal consequences, doing something completly legal while shouting vulgar words isn't something new. If you just stick to fart and vagina jokes you won't get a good movie, just a collection of unfunny scenes which cause vicarious embarrassment at the viewer. After I die I'll negiotate to get those 80 minutes back.I feel sorry for the german taxpayer cause they won't get back money which was used to fund this movie.

First of all, I got to say, that I spontaneously bought that movie for a girls night in. On the backside of the DVD it says something about similarities to Borat, which I liked a lot, so I ended up buying it and it really didn't disappoint me at all. Well, maybe it was because I didn't have a lot of expectations towards the movie. It may contain some dark humour and a bitchy protagonist, in lack of a better word, but Camille Cottin did a really great job on this one! You have to be open minded to watch it and even though it's not always accurate (talking about those last scenes, where she really had her princess moments), it's definitely a film you won't regret watching and the fact, that it was filmed through hidden cameras makes it even better.

Most people seem to be good sports about this woman who at first is very annoying. Well actually the "character" is consistent on being annoying. But she has to be, to achieve her goal. Which is making money doing nothing. Although breaking into the Palace should not be considered as nothing. The reality thing might have gone too far for some, but obviously not far enough for others. You may wonder how and where cameras where being placed, though some seem to have been in bags or so small you might not be able to see them. If being offensive can be considered fun, than you might have a hoot with this, if that doesn't float your boat, you shouldn't waste your time with this

I crave for Camille Cottin, the actress who is the lead here. She is also famous for performing in a mini series shown on Canal Pjus channel where she plays in a hidden camera scheme with very very funny situations. Such as this one, in this film, where she is a sort of weird, lunatic and offensive Young woman dreaming of the Prince Harry and for whom she will stop at anything - and I mean ANYTHING - to achieve her dream. Entirely shot in hidden camera, this feature is itself an outstanding performance. This actress is also very daring, courageous, such as in the scene where she walks among the Horse Guards, with the 7 feet tall impressive horses all around her, with the feeling that they were going to crush her. Whao!!! And this very funny sequence where she climbs the Buckingham Palace fence to meet Prince Harry, and when some policemen finally arrive to arrest her. Camille Cottin later said off screen that, at start, when she grabbed the palace fence, NO ONE tried to prevent her to do that. So this lack of reaction from the authorities would have jeopardize the entire sequence. The ironic thing in this is that, at the beginning, all the shooting crew was afraid of the impossibility they would have met in approaching the Buckingham Palace fence...And the policemen finally took several minutes to arrive to ACTUALLY arrest her. A situation for which every one in the film crew was prepared for to enhance the screenplay.
