A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

A must-see documentary, initially about a remarkable friendship that is formed between pilot Dale Zelko and air defense commander Zoltan Dani, who shot him down 12 years ago. But it's not just another story about friendship. It's a heartwarming, true story about hope, peace and tolerance. A tale about humanity, showing the real face behind the soldier, an example of how we are all alike. And that's what this film breathes and lives on, it's about what really matters in our lives and what we live for: love. And that makes The Second Meeting a great documentary.

Very nice and well made movie about friendship of two former enemies. Highly recommended for watching! Back in 1999, an American F-117 stealth fighter was brought down over Serbian airspace. Its pilot, Dale Zelko, was ejected and eventually rescued by American troops; the Serbian who shot him down, Zoltan Dani, was laureled as a hero by his countrymen. A decade later, the two visited one another's homes to discuss the fateful night and attempt a sort of reconciliation, a fascinating situation rendered in drab tones by Zeljko Mirkovic's docu "The Second Meeting." A human story of a unique encounter. Director and producer: Zeljko Mirkovic

This is what war is really like, as told by two real military men on opposite sides. Bruce Willis, Tom Cruise, Silvester Stallone, James Bond movies are so disingenuous and ridiculous. War and fighting is something we should all avoid and not glamorize. The men who fought real wars do not glamorize it, only men who have have something to prove and who have ego problems play pretend war/action hero. You can see how each real military man takes his responsibility seriously understanding the frailty of human life. Each is a hard working man that has a family. You can see how similar we are with a different culture. No matter what our leader's tell us, it is very difficult to justify a war. We need more truth in why we go to bomb other nations. Congratulations to our AirForce. I am so proud of them. We need more movies like this. I am telling my local independent film movie theater to play this one so more people can see this film.

In 1999 NATO bombed Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Dale Zelko was a pilot of a F-117 bomber, "the invisible". Zoltan Dani was the commander of the anti-aircraft artillery unit that shot "the invisible" down. The movie follows the "second meeting" of the two on locations in USA and Serbia. The movie is hindered by Zoltan's poor command of English (or Dale's poor command of Serbian, if you will) and they often use an interpreter. Thus the story is sometimes slow and lagged. Still, this doesn't take away from the sincerity of the cosmic bond of these two men.
