It is a performances centric movie
It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
View MoreThis is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

View MoreThe undertones of this short piece are astounding. After seeing the bit, and studying the painting thereafter I see how the moral is truly conveyed in the piece. The characters are actually derived from the characters in the painting, and it's a joy to see how much information is derived from the facial expressions of the puppets. The scenery and motions of each astound as well. The opening scene sets the tone well, and the ending was delightfully surprising. Amazing how much message can be conveyed through stop motion animation, and this is one of the pieces that proves that. Worth at least a glance.
View MoreSimply put - this is a beautiful film. Inspired by the Bosch painting ' A Cure for Folly', it is set in a medieval 'hospital' where many of the days inspired cures are practiced. The opening scene with a patient and a hammer sets the tone for this inspired dark comedy. The Stone of Folly is a beautifully animated film with stunning art direction and a great story. If your a fan of stop-motion animation you should see this if you haven't yet. It deservedly won the Jury Prize at Cannes and might be available soon from the National Film Board, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
