Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
View MoreThe film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
View MoreOne of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
View MoreThere is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
View MoreWhat a well made documentary this is. We are hearing stories of other athletes being motivated to succeed themselves after seeing this moving true story. Katie Bender and Leo Baker have done an incredible job following the path of Lydia Lassila who is a very determined yet lovable personality. We can't wait to see where this story goes because it is not over yet!
View MoreThe Will to Fly is an outstanding documentary on a number of levels. It tells the struggle of Lydia Lassila to achieve perfection as an aerial skier and as a member of Australia's freestyle Olympic team. Lydia's perseverance is inspirational and her achievements, as a woman and as an athlete, are remarkable. The way the documentary is structured is equally remarkable: the story line, the buildup of tension, the background information, the interviews with other skiers all weave into a documentary that can stand next to any other; sporting or otherwise. Well done to Leo Baker and Katie Bender for showing just as much perseverance is Lydia Lassila. Everyone should see this movie; it is fascinating on so many levels and has much more to do with the struggle to achieve than simply with skiing.
