It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.

French new-wave filmmaker Claude Chabrol, appearing in a bizarre role as a voyeur, is one of many in-jokes/references to Fuller's fascination with European culture. The film is structured as a chase yet has a tentative, fantasy matrix which makes it the opposite of a realistic thriller. It's charming, personal, tender and nihilistic all at the same time. Fuller fans may have some trouble finding this rather obscure film, but it's well worth searching out.
