Sadly Over-hyped

if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.

I saw The Escort and wished to see more from Doneger. I believe this action of mine is a compliment on itself. As for This Thing With Sarah, I found it as equally cool as The Escort was. I am glad that I discovered Doneger because greater things will come from him in the future, though I think that his kind of audience is yet to come. I mean, we will pretty soon get sick from all those movies created for viewers with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, but not just yet, it seems. This Thing With Sarah, in my opinion, is content. What I like about Doneger is that he is an actor and a writer that creates lovable characters, and not only in a cute way, but in a smart way as well. He tells clever jokes and portrays eccentric, nonetheless existing characters that many of us would not have a chance to ever meet, or know in a lifetime. He, on the other hand, seems to be interacting with such people, observes for on the end to portray them to us.The plot of This Thing With Sarah has a novelistic feel. I don't know if Doneger writes novels, but if he does I bet he is pretty good at it. I only couldn't find who did the casting for the movie from the IMDb, I was hoping to find out, somehow, why were everybody in the movie with thin lips. Unimportant and silly from me, I know, but really, why?

This is the kind of film where, as it's unfurling, you can play a whole host on online games, set your Virgin digibox for the next day, pick your proboscis thoroughly, and know you're not missing anything. Wanna know more? All the characters feel assembled from various spare parts of other, much better movies. You have the failed scriptwriter (maybe he worked on this production) recovering from a bad break-up, his douchey best friend who hands out bad dating advice like Smarties, the terrible agent more interested in a quick buck than the career of his client, and of course, the love interest... Sarah, a kooky Brit who happens to be into surfing.Listening to this crap, I experienced people not talking like people, awful pop songs being warbled through endless montages, facile complication upon complication being heaped up in a way it never would in real life, and sex scenes to chaste I think even the Vatican might approve. I'm someone who spends half his life tucked away inside... And even I can tell the phoniness of everything here pertaining to real life. It fails HARD on every single level to paint the picture of a convincing relationship, or being in the least bit entertaining. So there. 3/10

After watching this movie, I realised it was a waste of time because I thought the scenes were really dragging on and on. I mean I really expected that Devlin and Sarah were finally a couple towards the end but it didn't happen which was disappointing. This movie really dragged on and it just didn't flatter me at all. The storyline didn't seem to be interesting so what I did was skipped a couple of scene's so that I wouldn't fall asleep when watching this. I actually nearly did but I honestly wanted to know what happened next. The only advantage was Amanda Brooks putting on a killer British accent. I honestly was astonished that she is Amercian. She should be in more films!
