Having recently returned from the crusades, Dunstan, a noble knight, is plagued by haunting visions depicting suffering and death on an untold scale. Dunstan confides in Alfred, the town priest and a dear friend, but his visit turns sinister as truths come to light and the nature of Dunstan's dreams are revealed.
